Hi All! So this is really a post for the new School Days Pinkette Release over at Tickled Pink Stamps but I'm thinking you're probably wondering where the heck I've been right? So I figure I'll tackle that first and then get to the fun stuff :) I know I've casually mentioned that the hospital where I work is under going a full computer system change over- well, we go live on Monday and the road has been a little bumpy- like 15 hours of overtime a week for the last month or so while we converted some 30,000 appointments for our department into the new system bumpy! Thankfully that's now complete and we are actually making the change- this next week should be interesting to say the least but I'm so looking forward to being able to have my life back again and to be back coloring and making cards- you can't believe how much I've missed it- and missed all of you!
So without further ado here's the project that's helping me get back into the swing of things! I feel like I say this every time we have a Pinkette release but I really do love these stamps! They are an absolute blast to color and are so versatile- whenever I see the new images for the first time I can instantly envision how I want to use them. This School Days release is so much fun and this little gal Chloe is one of my absolute favorites! I love the cute little bob haircut and sweet school girl uniform- I mean how can you not just want to color her up right? I decided to do something a little different this time- I've used one of those large wooden clothes pins and covered it with some plaid paper from We R Memory Keepers to match her skirt; added some ribbon from Pebbles and a safety pin from Tim Holtz that says 'Ideas' on it and finished it off with some flowers to balance it out. I envisioned using this as a little photo holder with a first day of school picture sticking out the top of it- I actually found an old photo of one of my first days of school, backpack and all, but the photo was so old and dark that I couldn't get it to turn out in any of the pictures that I took. Oh well, guess I'll just have to put you to work using those amazing creative minds of yours to picture what it could hold :) Thank you so much for stopping by and seeing me after my absence- I hope to never have to be away for so long ever again, lol! I also hope that you love little School Days Chloe as much as I do- please stop by over at the Tickled Pink Stamps blog to check out all the other AH-MA-ZING creations done by my fellow teamies and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win this little cutie!

Adore
Hi All! Guess what? It's time for a new Pinkette release over at Tickled Pink Stamps! I just love these little cuties- they are so easy to work with and an absolute blast to color :) We've got an awesome Easter release and one of the things I love most about Lil Easter Pinkette Daisy August is that she would be perfect for so many types of cards year round, not just springtime. I did something a little different this time around- just got to switch things up every now and then right?- and took what was supposed to be a cardboard frame to use on a scrapbooking page with a picture and instead distressed it with a white ink pad and some white embossing powder, sanded the edges and then backed it with some design paper from Lilybee Designs. Then I mounted that on an A7 white card base and cut the excess card off. Its a much smaller workspace than I'm used to working on but that actually made it really easy to embellish because I filled it up quickly with some of my favorite things like bling, flowers, a charm and a metal ribbon slider that I've seriously had in my stash for an embarrassingly long time. I can already tell the this little August is quickly going to become a favorite of mine so you'll probably see her in the near future :) Please, please, please go and check out the Tickled Pink Stamps blog for more stunning projects from my fellow teamies- I'm always picking my jaw up off the floor when I see all the awesomeness that these ladies create- and leave a comment for a chance to win the adorable Daisy August!

Live.Laugh.Love.Learn
Hi All! Well, things have been crazy as usual but I finally got some time in to make a card- Yay me! It's about time too because I've had this image Bookish Tia from Some Odd Girl colored and sitting on my desk for a little bit now and it was seriously starting to kill me :) When I first started coloring with Copics I never picked my papers first but now that's how I work about 99% of the time and it really does make things much easier. The thing it doesn't so much lend itself to is color challenges so I hardly ever participate in those. But when I saw the inspiration photo over at the Some Odd Girl Challenge blog I was stoked because it just so happened that the papers/colors I chose to use with little Tia actually already fit the colors in the photo! Things working out like that hardly ever happen to me so I took it as a sign that I needed to get on this card and enter it :) I used the sketch over at the Pink {Ink} Sketch Challenge blog and love it for its simplicity- it truly allows everyone to put their own unique spin on things which is always cool to see. I hope I did both the photo inspiration and sketch challenge justice- and most of all I hope you enjoy!

A 'Maggie' Birthday
Hi All! Just a quick post before I head to bed :) I bought this gorgeous 'Congratulation Tilda' Magnolia stamp from ICopic recently and just had to put her to good use right away! I've been trying to expand my coloring skills so I followed a tutorial by the amazing Zoe over at Make It Crafty on how to color folds/pleats in clothing and I do have to admit there were a few images that went straight into the trash bin but I feel like I'm getting better and am pretty pleased with how Tilda's dress turned out here. I used the gorgeous sketch by Cheri over on the Pink {Ink} Sketch Challenge blog to pull the design together and had a blast (I love her sketches!). I didn't end up putting to many embellishments on it (I know you're shocked- no gems!) because I wanted the image to take center stage. Well, I guess that's about it as I hear my bed calling my name :) I hope you enjoy!

A Lil' Something Different
Hi All! I've got a little something different to share today than just the normal card :) I'm not really sure where I saw these for the first time but out in blog land I came across a cute little memo/picture/card holder made with one of those enormous clothesline pins and thought to myself 'Man, those are pretty cute! I bet even I could do that!'. So on my last trip to the scrapbooking store I picked myself up a package just to see what damage I could do. Since they're not really that enormous I just knew that one of the Lil' Little's from Tickled Pink Stamps would be a great fit so I colored little Willow up with my Copics to match a piece of patterned paper from 'Blissful' by Authentique and grabbed a couple of other goodies from my stash to finish it all off. It was actually a little bit of a challenge to get everything on there that I wanted- not a whole lot of surface to work with- but I think I crammed as much cuteness on it as possible :)

Thinking of You
Hi All! I've just got a quick little post tonight :) I'm in love with the Perfect Matches line over at Tickled Pink Stamps and I've got Lil Lad Eric paired up with his Perfect Match Christina on my card today- aren't they so cute? They are so much fun to color, which I did with my Copics, though I have to admit Eric's hair was not at all how I planned it, in fact I wasn't even sure that I was going to be able to keep the image at one point because it was looking so bad, but thank goodness for happy mistakes because I ended up really happy with how it turned out! All I can think when I look at these two paired up is that if they were a real couple they'd be so cute I'd probably hate 'em just a little...thank goodness they're just stamps :)

The Little Moments
Hi All! I've got a little Father's Day card to share today. Please excuse the blurry pictures- I'm not really sure what happened but I have a sneaking suspicion that it probably has to do with the fact that I was running late for father's day brunch (of course!) and was trying to take these photo's super fast so I could get on the road as quickly as possible...note to self: don't wait to the last minute to take blog pictures :)
I was lucky enough to win a TON of stamps from the always generous Kellie over at Tickled Pink Stamps and just knew Lil Pinkette Tom Boyz Baseball Pippa would be perfect for my Father's Day card for my dad. I wanted to thank him for all the T-Ball games he sat through cheering me on when I was lazily doing cartwheels in the outfield. And for all the softball games where I always seemed to get hit by the ball at one point or another (seriously-I'm like a magnet!). He was always present for the big and little moments when I was growing up and was seriously my biggest fan....in fact he still is one of my biggest fans! It was so much fun to make a card that celebrates that :) Love you Dad!

Faith To Lead You
Hi All! I've got something a little different for you today...I'm trying something new so it's not actually a card and there's no coloring- shocking I know! A long time ago I picked up a magnetic frame secondhand from someone who just didn't want it anymore. I tried making an altered art piece out of it by using some magnets and little quote cards...nothing too involved or fancy but I took it to my office as a decoration. Lots of people started commenting on how much they liked it and one of my co-workers asked if it was something I would ever consider selling. I told her I could go one better and custom make one for her if she ever wanted. I searched high and low for something similar to the frame I'd acquired and found something suitable at Archivers- I think it's called a magnetic organizer but it basically looks the same. Some time went by and my co-worker never actually asked me about making one again so I figured the time had just kind of passed- but then her really dear friend was diagnosed with cancer and suddenly there was a lot of need for encouraging and uplifting cards and gifts. Now that her friend is finished with her cancer treatment, and has one last surgery, my co-worker asked if I could do something special to mark this wonderful milestone, something that could be a gift for what's to come in the future instead of just getting through right now, and I just new this would be the perfect thing.
Most of the products used are things from my stash- a Tim Holtz ticket, some bling, some flowers and a charm from Michaels. The little quote, picture card and magnets all came from a set I got at Hallmark about a million years ago and I just distressed the edges on the cards. Since this is a new type of project for me, and to celebrate a new stage in my co-workers friends life, I figured it would be more than suitable for the challenge over at Craft Us Crazy which is simply 'Something New'. I hope that this is a gift that will be cherished for a very long time...
I'd like to enter this is the following challenges:
Craft Us Crazy- Something New and/or Something with Flowers
A Spoon Full of Sugar- Anything Goes

A Simple Mother's Day
Hi All! I know this is a couple days late but I was too busy having fun on Mother's Day to post- I took my mom to brunch and then we went to Wicked (which was AMAZING!). My mother's day card didn't end up being too flashy, just the right amount of 'pretty' and 'fancy' as my little cousins would say :) I used a brand new image that I'd just purchased from Elisabeth Bells digital collection (check them out here) called Pati's Kisses. The first thing my mom said when she opened it was that it looked just like me when I was little...the only thing that would have been different was I would have been holding my well loved, and slightly falling apart, Raggedy Ann doll instead of a teddy bear. I know as much as she loves the adults her daughters have become it's nice to remember the times when we were little girls. Little girl or not I still love spending time with my mom and Mother's Day is just another day set aside for me to do that- and trust me, we both make the most of it!

It's A Cupcake Thing
Hi All! I hope you've got a sweet tooth because this card just may be cavity worthy :) This card was incredibly fun to make with its soft pretty colors and lots of layers- courtesy of the sketch at Friday Sketchers this week. I used the new CC Designs Swiss Pixie Cupcake Birgitta digi that you can grab here and I tried a new technique with my Spellbinders die by fussy cutting around her legs and then pulling them outside of the die before sending it through my Big Shot. It was actually incredibly easy and I love how it turned out, especially since the she seems to be sitting in the image. Now I just have to make sure that this card ends up in the hands of someone who seriously loves cupcakes!

Love Story
Hi All! I have a sweet little Valentine's card today...I'm using a CC Designs digi stamp called Swiss Pixie Violet with Key that I picked up here at All That Scraps. I just love her little kerchief with the hearts on it! Since she's for Valentine's Day I had an excuse to use my favorite color -pink- to color her up, especially because then she went perfectly with my new favorite Valentine's line of papers from Echo Park called Be Mine. I love that Valentine's gives us a chance to be unappologetically girlie! And I think this card might find it's way into the mail with my grandma's address on it as a special surprise :)
I've used the sketch from Sketch Saturday challenge #141 and really loved working with it! I've not used sketches much before but I have to say I'm becoming a huge fan. I'm also entering this card in the following challenges:
