May All Your Wishes Come True

Hi All!  Wow, it's been a long week and I'm so glad that tomorrow is Friday!  Can I just say how much I really want the sun to come out and play?  It's killing me- I'm ready for summer already :)  I've got a birthday card that was requested and I was asked to do it vintage style...now this isn't my comfort zone by any means but I did have a lot of fun doing it and I think I'm getting better as I stretch myself to try new styles.  I used 20's Evie in digi format from Tickled Pink Stamps and cropped her for my main image.  To me she just screams vintage.  I distressed the heck out of everything, I've the inky hands to prove it, and in the end I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out and I hope that person receiving it feels the same!

When I went to grab my list of Copics I couldn't find it!  Talk about disorganization- I blame it on the 'creative process' :)

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Aww, Wonderful Siblings

Hi All!  I'll keep this short and sweet as my sister and my grandma are still in town but I just had to share this sweet little card with you!  My local scrapbooking store ordered some Magnolia stamps a while back and I simply had to get them all immediately :)  But, as with many new things, they sat un-inked for a while.  Well, of course I had to remedy that so I grabbed them up the other day and started coloring my heart out!  And I'm so glad I did because they are just too cute- it seemed particularly fitting to use the Brother and Sister image since my sis is currently in town and I love having her around.  I paired my image with some of the new My Minds Eye Stella and Rose and used the Hattie set this time to change it up a bit.  I just love the blues and golds in this set.  I've been working really hard on my coloring as well and am pretty pleased with how this turned out.  Well, off to a big family BBQ- lots of love and laughter and some really good food- I can't wait!

Furry Easter Friends

Hi All!  I've gotta tell ya I've been busy because my sister and my grandma are going to be coming into town this week!  I'm so excited because my grandma's had some health issues and hasn't been able to travel to see us in almost 3 years and now she's not only going to be here but she'll be here for Easter!  So, of course, I had to make her a super special Easter card for the occasion.  And luckily I was looking at the April release of stamps over at Wee Stamps and came across this absolutely adorable digi image named Easter Bunny.  Now, I'm not normally one who does the super sweet images- I like a little bit of an edge most of the time- but sometimes you just need a little 'cute' you know?  Plus, I had these amazing new papers from Echo Park that I picked up in a 6x6 pad at my local scrapbooking store (Stampers and Scrappers Delight- hi my lovely ladies!) and the bright colors worked perfectly!  I'm so excited to give it to my grandma- I think she'll just love it and the best part for me is I get to give it to her in person!

Spice It Up

Hi All!  I swear I must have some sort of jinx with electronics lately!  First it was my internet and then my email from my phone.  But I think I've finally got everything in working order- Knock on wood!  I'm not good at operating without all my toys :)
On to the fun stuff now!  I saw the Kenny K Krafty Girlz Challenge was 'Spice it Up' this week.  If I wanted to get completely literal here I could say I used some orange- courtesy of Paprika, some red- maybe a little Cayenne Pepper and some yellow- lets go with Curry for that one.  I don't think literal thinking was mandatory but it's definitely a way of thinking outside the box :)  I colored up Club Kid, one of my new favorites (grab it here), in my spicy colors and then used some more of the My Minds Eye Stella and Rose paper since it complemented my colors so well.  It's a pretty simple layout because I wanted my image to be center stage but I had to add a little bling in there of course!  She certainly looks like one cool- or maybe I should say hot and spicy, chick!

Here's a close up and a list of Copics used:

Rain or Shine

Hi All!  It seems like it's been forever since I've posted!  Darn internet was giving me fits all weekend long...I know there was a time before internet but I'm hard pressed to remember it.  It's kinda sad but I felt like I was missing an appendage just cause I couldn't get online...ah, technology a curse and a blessing all in one :)  Well, now that I'm able to upload, I have a simple little card for someone I know who's having a hard time of it right now.  I was at Archiver's the other day and had to stop and check out the new Stamping Bella that they are carrying now.  I love Bella stamps and they were some of the first I ever owned.  When I saw this Rain-Never-Stopped-Me-abella I couldn't resist.  That jacket, the umbrella- if only I felt half that cute while standing in the rain!  In the same trip I also snagged a 6x6 paper pad by Basic Grey, Pyrus, and felt like it was the perfect thing to pair with my new stamp- I mean when you get new stuff gotta use it right away right?  Ultimately I hope this card brings just a little bit of joy to someone who needs it...

Beach Bum

Hi All!  This card is probably a figment of my wishful thinking- I'm so tired of all the rain I can't wait for summer weather!  Oh to live somewhere that's always nice enough to surf...it's probably the same place that Margaretaville is (hey, if I'm gonna dream might as well dream big right?) and I would love to become a permanent resident!  But alas, I'm stuck here with the clouds and rain so I guess I'll take refuge in my craft area where I can make things bright and sunny if I want to :)  Here I've got Lil Lad Stephan from Tickled Pink Stamps (find him here) and couldn't wait to get him on a card.  I used a new 6x6 paper pad from Fancy Pants called Beach Bum and it couldn't have been more fitting.  Now, in my infinite wisdom, I chose to use a boy image to enter the TPS Challenge which is 'Bling It Out'...probably not my finest idea but I did manage to find a rhinestone arrow that I think complements Stephen nicely and I threw in a few gems as bubbles in the piece of wave paper.  Now I think it's time to unwind- I've heard it's always 5 o'clock somewhere :)
Here's a close up of cute little Stephen and the Copics I used:
