A 'Maggie' Birthday

Hi All!  Just a quick post before I head to bed :)  I bought this gorgeous 'Congratulation Tilda' Magnolia stamp from ICopic recently and just had to put her to good use right away!  I've been trying to expand my coloring skills so I followed a tutorial by the amazing Zoe over at Make It Crafty on how to color folds/pleats in clothing and I do have to admit there were a few images that went straight into the trash bin but I feel like I'm getting better and am pretty pleased with how Tilda's dress turned out here.  I used the gorgeous sketch by Cheri over on the Pink {Ink} Sketch Challenge blog to pull the design together and had a blast (I love her sketches!).  I didn't end up putting to many embellishments on it (I know you're shocked- no gems!) because I wanted the image to take center stage.  Well, I guess that's about it as I hear my bed calling my name :)  I hope you enjoy!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Hi All!  I can't believe that a whole week has gone by and it's time for another challenge over at Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges- I guess time really does fly by when you're having fun :)  We have an awesome challenge for you this week...Use a Music Sheet...and you don't know how excited I was for this particular challenge!  See, before cardmaking was ever something I was into I expressed my creativity in another way- music.  I've played piano since I was five and starting singing in the 4th grade- I eventually even went to college on a music scholarship for voice.  While my dreams of becoming a huge pop singing sensation never came true music is still something that's as much a part of my everyday life as card making has become.  So the chance to marry the two things I love together was AWESOME.  You'd think because I have so much music floating around everywhere it would make things easy but it's kind of like when you're at the candy shop and you have so many choices it takes you hours to decide because you want to pick just the right thing :)  Since I couldn't do a billion cards for this one challenge I started looking through my Tickled Pink images and thinking of all the different songs that could go with them.  I settled on a theme using Lil Pinkette Tom Boyz Baseball Pippa that I think turned out pretty good if I do say so myself...it's to bad the song's so catchy because I caught myself singing it repeatedly as I assembled my card :)  I can promise that you'll be seeing some more music inspired cards in the near future because even if I couldn't do a whole billion cards for this one challenge my mojo definitely kicked into high gear and that inspiration has got to be put to good use!  Please stop by the challenge blog to check out the rest of the DT's amazing creations because, as always, they have all totally knocked it out of the park with this one!  And if you have time I hope you'll join in the challenge and share the fun, just remember to use a Tickled Pink image!

We'll Owl Miss You

Hi All!  Ah, the end of a busy weekend and an even busier work week ahead...it really does seem like the weekends fly by and Sunday night I'm left wondering if there was some breakdown in the time space continuum because even though those around me swear there were two whole days there I'm not totally convinced :)  Anyhoo, enough babbling- on to the card...lol!  Again at work we're faced with someone moving on to greener pastures and I've offered to make a card...this particular co-worker loves owls, and has ordered owl specific cards from me before, so I definitely had a direction to go in from the start.  Since I've used most of my owl things for her already I did need to find a new image so I went to Etsy to see if I could find anything new and came across 2Cute Rubber Stamps and this adorable owl image which I snapped up in digi form.  He was so much fun to color- I just love his glasses!  Once I had him done I set to work with the August sketch over at Graphicat Sketch Challenge and the card came together pretty easily.  The sentiment is my own printed on my computer- it's kind of corny but I couldn't resist the play on words :)  Hope you enjoy it as much as I think she will!

First Days

Hi All!  It's time for another challenge over at Tickled Pink Stamps Challenges and this week we've got a super easy one for you- Anything Goes.  I decided to try something new so I made a circle card which I haven't done many times but I'm always pleased with how they turn out so I don't know why I don't do it more often :)  The trickiest part always seems to be the layout and getting my mind to switch gears from the standard square and rectangle cards I'm used to making...but I like to challenge myself and go outside my comfort zone sometimes.  I've used Lil Little Frankie since I hadn't colored him up yet- I have to say I seriously love the Lil Littles!- and thought since he had a backpack I'd go with a kind of first day back to school vibe.  I hope you'll join us over at TPSC this week with Anything Goes and remember to use a Tickled Pink Stamps image when you join in the fun :)

You'll have to excuse my 'moment'- I forgot to write down my Copics...I know, bad Katie :)

Supplies: Card base- Truly Yours Archivers; DP- My Minds Eye; Borders- Bazzil; Bingo Card- Jenni Bowlin; Metal Embellishments- Tim Holtz; Brads- my stash

The Witching Hour- Lil' Pinkette Haunting Witch Audrey Preview

Hi All!  I've got one final preview to show you from the new Spinks & Spooks line over at Tickled Pink Stamps and I hope you love her as much as I do!  It's little witch Audrey and she is all dressed to the nines to go trick or treating black pointy hat and all.  I went with the traditional Halloween colors this time around and had a blast coloring her up with my Copics.  I decided to throw some of my favorite things on this card so there's some bling, some flowers and another of the canvas tickets from Little Yellow Bicycle....you wanna know a secret?  Of course you do :)  I'm going to get a lot of mileage out of these tags because they were actually supposed to be a border for a 12x12 page and there were two complete strips in the package, so when I cut them up I've got a nice little pile that should last me a while!  I hope you enjoy my card and remember to hop on over to the store blog to not only see some amazing, out-of-this-world inspiration from the rest of the design team, but a chance to win this stamp from the ever generous Kellie, owner of Tickled Pink Stamps!

*Please scroll down for Tickled Pink Stamps Challenges Post*

Hi All!  Time for another sneaky peek from the new Spinks and Spooks release we're counting down to over at Tickled Pink Stamps!  Today I've got the super swashbuckling Pirate Patrick- is he not just the cutest thing ever?!?  He was so much fun to color up with my Copics and I had a blast picking out some cool pirate stuff to pair him with like those awesome skull and crossbones brads from Creative Imaginations.  The sentiment is just something that I thought up and printed out from my computer using the Chiller font and then I dirtied it up a bit with some Tim Holtz Pumice Stone Distress Ink so the white wasn't so in your face.  I have definitely fallen in love with this new release and I hope you feel the same as you check out all the sneak peeks from the week.  Remember the ever generous Kellie, owner of Tickled Pink Stamps, has a great opportunity to win this stamp so please hop over to the store blog to see all the other fabulous creations from the DT and your chance to win!

Boo!

Hi All!  Its time for another challenge over at Tickled Pink Stamps Challenges and this week we'd like to see 'Happy Haunts' so break out those Tickled Pink Halloween images, put in a scary movie and get yourself in the mood to craft :)  It was pretty easy for me to get in the Halloween spirit because as a DT for the Pinkette's we've been doing some sneaky peeks this week of some awesome Halloween images so all my Halloween stuff was easily in reach.  I did get to play with one of the new Tickled Pink Lad's Wizard Eric and I loved it because Eric is a favorite of mine.  I was kind of struggling with what to have him directing that gaze and firepower on and then I thought instead of focusing on a potential foe why not have him conjuring the sentiment, and as they say the rest is history!  I sure hope you enjoy and this helps put you in the haunting spirit so you can join us in the fun.  For more inspiration don't forget to hope on over to the rest of the DT's blogs because they never disappoint!  And remember to use a Tickled Pink Stamp when you enter :)

Lil Pinkette Haunting Fairy Coraline Preview

Hi All!  I'm so excited to bring you my first preview as a new Pinkette DT member!  I've got the lovely Lil Pinkette Haunting Fairy Coraline who is part of the new Spinks & Spooks release that we're counting down to over on the Tickled Pink Stamps blog.  I had so much fun coloring her up with my Copics; she's just so darn cute- it reminds me of when I was little and Halloween was an excuse to get to be a princess or fairy and wear makeup :)  This card ended up being a funny combo of more pastel colors and black to try and pull in a little of the traditional Halloween feel.  I used Flowersoft for the first time on the bottom of her dress and have to say I LOVE that stuff!  I also added some Platimum Stickles to her wings because lets face it- Halloween is one of the times where we're totally allowed to be a little over the top with all things shiny and sparkly :)  Now the lovely Kellie, owner of Tickled Pink Stamps, is always super generous during previews so be sure to hop over to the store blog for a look at all the lovely sneak peeks and leave a comment for a chance to win a stamp!

Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge #31- Use A Feather

Hi All!  I'm so excited- it's my first challenge as a Guest DT over at the Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge blog and it's still mind blowing to me that I get to type that :)  This week we're asking you to use a feather on your project.  As soon as I knew that's what the challenge was I knew that Lil Little Kellita would be the perfect stamp to use since she has her little feathered friend with her.  I colored Kellita with my Copics to match some papers from KaiserCraft, the ChapterOne pad, which has quickly become a favorite of mine.  Those papers have made me fall back in love with using blues and greens on my projects- because, I'm not gonna lie, sometimes I get a little caught up in pink and neutrals :)  I hope you enjoy my card and please stop by the Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge blog to check out the other DT projects, which are amazing!, and to play along...just remember to use a Tickled Pink image!

A Lil' Something Different

Hi All!  I've got a little something different to share today than just the normal card :)  I'm not really sure where I saw these for the first time but out in blog land I came across a cute little memo/picture/card holder made with one of those enormous clothesline pins and thought to myself 'Man, those are pretty cute!  I bet even I could do that!'.  So on my last trip to the scrapbooking store I picked myself up a package just to see what damage I could do.  Since they're not really that enormous I just knew that one of the Lil' Little's from Tickled Pink Stamps would be a great fit so I colored little Willow up with my Copics to match a piece of patterned paper from 'Blissful' by Authentique and grabbed a couple of other goodies from my stash to finish it all off.  It was actually a little bit of a challenge to get everything on there that I wanted- not a whole lot of surface to work with- but I think I crammed as much cuteness on it as possible :)
