Butterflies and Peonies

Hi All!  I've just got a quick post tonight before I head off to bed :)  I was asked to make a sympathy card for a coworker and just knew that something simple and classy like this Peony flower digital stamp from Just Inklined would be perfect.  I followed the sketch over at Papertake Weekly which gave me a great base and then, silly as it might sound, I just tried to create a 'pretty' card.  I used a rub on sympathy sentiment from My Sentiments Exactly which completed the card.  I hope that it offers a little comfort to a friend in need.
I'll be entering this card in the following challenges:
~PaperPlay- Lets Get Sentimental
~Stamp Something- Something with Flowers
~Paper Sundaes- How Charming- the butterfly charm on the ribbon

Supplies: Image- Just Inklined Peony 2; Color Medium- Copics; DP- DCWV Matstack: Mariposa, Luxury, Metallic; Charm- My Minds Eye for Stella & Rose; Sentiment- MSE Sympathy Rub On; Ribbon- stash

Time To Celebrate!

Hi All!  I've got a 'funky' little card to show you!  The challenge over at Stamp Something is to do something Funky and that truly was the jumping off point for this card :)  First off I've used a Kenny K image named Bling Baby from the new Glam Gang set 2 (grab them here)- it just screamed Funky to me- and I have to admit I own a scary amount of Kenny K digi's but I just can't resist them...I love their urban feel!  To keep the urban feel I had some DP paper from Basic Grey in mind, the Wander line, with it's kind of cityscape design and used those more subdues colors throughout- including some of the new lines from My Minds Eye that matched perfectly.  For the Kenny K challenge they want there to be something that starts with the letter R on the card so I used my Rectangle Nestabilities to cut my image out and then threw in a couple of Rhinestones as well for good measure.  My style is usually a little more bright but I have to say I really do love this card!
Here's a close up of the image that I colored with my Copics- I was a little worried about the hair but it turned out just like I pictured in my head so I'm happy with it!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Kenny K- It's All About R's
Card Makin' Mama's- Happy Birthday
Totally PaperCrafts- Do It With Digi's
Do You Stack Up- Dots (the green and yellow DP paper)
Paper Sundaes- Use Masculine Colors

Sending You...

Hi All!  I've been trying to work through my long list of card orders this week and have made some progress (thank goodness!).  I'd like to share a card that's for our boss at work...she's gotten a new position and will be moving to another department and we're all extremely sad to see her go.  I was asked to make a couple of cards for everyone to sign and this is one of them.

I've been a huge fan of the Pure Innocence stamps that Kim carries over at My Favorite Things since I first stumbled across pictures of cards using them on her blog.  However I had yet to buy any because every time I went online to purchase things my basket started overflowing with other stamps (like the WTG line and the Ala Modes- but that's another post entirely!) and I always found myself saying "I'll get them next time".  So imagine my surprise when I somehow stumbled across the illustrator of these images Heather Ellis', website with Pure Innocence images in digi form!  Suffice it to say I was hooked.  This is my first card using one of her images and I just love them!

The response from co-workers who have signed the card has been great so I'm hoping that my boss loves it...we sure will miss her!  Please take a moment to stop by the website of Heather Ellis to look around or you can also find her images for sale on etsy.  Well I'm off to bed- it's so very much past my bedtime :)

Check Yes or No

Hi All!  I just have a quick post tonight...this is a card I made this weekend but I'm just now getting around to posting it :)  It was a special request for a valentine and the image was picked out specifically after seeing some of my other cards made with CC Designs images from All That Scraps.  Since it was for a guy it's missing some of the flowers and jewels that I love so much but luckily I think the image, and especially the sentiment, kind of make the card...

I hope he checked Yes!

Happy Birthday to You!

Hi All!  I'm sitting here with the Grammy Awards playing in the background after a long day of card making feeling pretty good about what I was able to get done today.  I'll probably spread the posts out so as not to overwhelm but I couldn't wait to share this gem!  I'm going to be entering it into the Tickled Pink Challenge Blog for their Birthday Wishes challenge which meant I get to use a Tickled Pink image and I've been waiting for the perfect opportunity to use Lil Birthday Kellita (grab it here)!  I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers which was a blast with all it's layers and it really let me play without detracting from my image which I love.  It's kinda funny because when I colored my image I got almost done, all that was left was the present, and had a head scratching moment for what color to make it (I hadn't picked out my paper yet) but as soon as I thought of this line of papers with the orange and pink I knew in an instant that I needed to make the present orange and I'm so happy with how it turned out!

This is one of those cards that I wish I could keep for myself but it's already spoken for!  Guess I'll just have to make another one :)

Challenges I'm entering:
*Tickled Pink Challenges- Birthday Wishes
*Friday Sketchers
*Paper Sundaes- Any 2 or more of Flowers, Lace, Distressing and Pink- I've done Flowers made of Lace and (lots of) Pink
Supplies: Image- Tickled Pink Lil Birthday Kellita Digi; Sentiment- Deja Views Wonderful Words Rub-On Birthday; All DP- Sei Winnie's Walls; Lace Flowers- Prima; Ribbon- Pebbles; Epoxy Button Stickers- Heidi Grace; Embroidery Floss- my stash

Fairy Tale

Hi All!  It's been a busy week but I finally had time to sit down and make a card!  This one's been percolating in my head ever since I saw what the new challenge was over at the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog- the theme is Love Is In The Air and it's supposed to be a romantic card.  For some reason when I do romantic themed cards, especially wedding cards, I always seem to default into a classic black and white with little touches of metallic like silver or bronze.  It just seems so classy and maybe a little like a throwback to the old black and white movies that I love- now that's how romance should be :)  Since I wanted to keep with the black and white theme for the whole card (and because I've been a little obsessed with coloring my images in black and white lately) I wanted to find an image that would lend itself well to being done black and white and I knew I found the right one in As You Wish (grab it here).  Couple the perfect image with the perfect sentiment  from My Favorite Things- WTG Well Read clear stamp set and I had all the makings for a romantic card...
Here's hoping I never outgrow a good fairy tale!

This card is being entered into these challenges:
*Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog- Love Is In the Air
*Totally PaperCrafts- Clean and Simple
*Totally Gorjuss- Love
*The ABC Challenge- N is for Neutrals
Supplies: Image- Tiddly Inks As You Wish; Sentiment- MFT WTG Well Read; Color Medium- Copics; DP- Spiders Web My Minds Eye, DCWV Mat Stack Metallic; Pearls- Recollections; Flower- Prima; Key- 7 gypsies; Ribbon- my stash

Love Story

Hi All!  I have a sweet little Valentine's card today...I'm using a CC Designs digi stamp called Swiss Pixie Violet with Key that I picked up here at All That Scraps.  I just love her little kerchief with the hearts on it!  Since she's for Valentine's Day I had an excuse to use my favorite color -pink- to color her up, especially because then she went perfectly with my new favorite Valentine's line of papers from Echo Park called Be Mine.  I love that Valentine's gives us a chance to be unappologetically girlie!  And I think this card might find it's way into the mail with my grandma's address on it as a special surprise :)
I've used the sketch from Sketch Saturday challenge #141 and really loved working with it!  I've not used sketches much before but I have to say I'm becoming a huge fan.  I'm also entering this card in the following challenges:
Craft Us Crazy- Anything Goes
Crazy 4 Challenges- Valentine's Day
Do It With Digi's- Valentine's

Stamp Something- Digi Day
