Memoirs

Hi all- Happy Tuesday!  And guess what kind of Tuesday it is...a Tiddly Tuesday :)  That's right- there's a brand new challenge over at Tiddly Inks and this go around we want to see you use inspiration from characters in either books or movies.  How fun is that?  Well, I'm definitely a lover of both books and movies so it's always hard to narrow it down...to help I popped over to the Tiddly Inks store and just starting going through some of the images to see what stood out at me.  And, as luck would have it, this gorgeous image, Chi, caught my eye.  As soon as I saw it all I could think was Memoirs of a Geisha- which just happens to be a book and a movie (do you think I get some sort of bonus for being an overachiever?  lol)I tried something a little different on this card too- this is my first venture into using all digi papers, and I did some paper piecing for the first time.  I was pulling out all the stops on this one :)  But I have to admit, it's definitely a new favorite!  As always, thank you so much for stopping by this little blog of mine to see what's going on.  I hope that you'll pop on over to the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog as well to take a look at the other fabulous creations that the rest of the DT made- they are a seriously talented bunch of ladies!  And maybe you'll even feel tempted to join in- don't resist it, just grab a Tiddly image and come play with us!!

Hello Red

Hi all!  Just popping in to share a new card with you featuring one of the new clear stamp sets from the Some Odd Girl release this week called Kaylee's Closet- Red Riding Hood.  Now if you're not familiar with Kaylee's Closet you're totally missing out- it's like dress up dolls for adults :)  The main Kaylee's Closet is a clear stamp of Kaylee with a ton of different tops, pants and accessories; then there are releases of additional outfits you can use with Kaylee- like this awesome Red Riding Hood set in the Fairy Tale release.  It comes with the hood, cape and even a sweet little basket and sentiment...they are super fun to play with because the possibilities are endless!  Kristy even made and easy to follow tutorial in case you're not quite sure how it all works :)

For my image I looked up some inspiration online of different versions of Red Riding Hood and found one that had a beautiful deep red combined with an earthy khaki color and I new it was the perfect combo to go with the gorgeous paper from Carta Bella.  I tried using my Spellbinders die to do a shape card too and am pretty happy since it was my first try at it :)  Well, I hope that you enjoy my card and don't forget to stop by the Some Odd Girl blog and leave a comment for a chance to win one of the new stamps!

HB2U

Hi all!  Just popping in to let you know that there's a new challenge over at Tiddly Inks today!  It's another fun one- use 1 image, 2 embellishments and 3 design papers.  Now I looooove me some papers so that part was easy- I almost always have 3 papers that I pick out before I color my images.  Sometimes not all of them make it on the card but they are there if I need them :)  I figured since it was going to have to be light on the embellishments that I'd just do some layers with my papers and choose a super cute image to work with.  I'm not usually one for critter or animal stamps but these adorable birds just make me smile so I had to pull them out!  This is a digi image from TI called For the Birds and you get the birds by themselves, on the branch, and also some pairs and single birds too so there's a lot you can do with them.  I've been wanting to use the HB2U as a sentiment on a card for a little while now and those signs gave me the perfect opportunity!  I hope that you enjoy my card and that you'll stop by the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog for some more inspiration from the rest of the DT and maybe even join in :)

Sweets

Hi all!  How's it going?  My week has been extremely crazy so I'm soooo happy to see that it's Friday!  I've got something a little different to share today but I hope you like it- it was a ton of fun to put together :)  An embarrassingly long time ago I picked up some awesome treat boxes from Denami Designs.  They've been patiently chillin' just waiting on their little shelf for me to get my act together and make them all pretty.   Well, I'd recently colored up this adorable Wryn image from the Sweets for my Sweet clear stamp set from Tiddly Inks and was kind of thinking to myself that she'd be really cute if I could make some sort of play on the fact that she's holding some sweets.  And what should catch my eye but those little treat boxes- it was time to make one of them shine!  So I grabbed some random pieces of pretty stuff I had laying around my desk and this is the result.  (As a somewhat funny side note I've been working really hard on losing some weight so I actually had to go by some chocolate to put in it- there was none in my house!).  So here's my little treat box, finally getting to make it's grand entrance- I hope you enjoy!  And it's a Fabulous Inky Friday over at Tiddly Inks so don't forget to stop by and take a peek at some of my fellow DT members fab projects :)  Happy Friday!

Too Cute

Hi all!  I hope that everyone had a great week- mine was good but man am I glad to see the weekend!  I was able to get the afternoon off at work which was lovely and gave me some much needed craft time :)  I've been coloring every night after work and this little beauty has been screaming to go on a card ever since so I was more than happy to get to it today.  Isn't she just to die for?  Her name is Fairy Magic and you can get her as a clear stamp from the Some Odd Girl shop- I swear, if you like fairies Kristy has some cuties!  I colored her up with my Copics to match some of my favorite MME papers- there's just something about this shade of pink that I love :)  I tried something a little different for her wings and took the accent stamp that comes in the set- some pretty starbursts- and heat embossed them in pink.  Then I took my colorless blender and picked up some of the lightest pink shade that I used in her dress to kind of color in the rest.  What do you think- success or no?  It didn't turn out perfect but I think I like the effect :)  Well I hope that everyone has a fabulous weekend...thanks for stopping by to pay me a visit!

What's Up at Tiddly Inks

Hi all!  It's a new challenge today over at the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog and we'd like to see you Choose a Technique- Embossing, Distressing or Stitching.  Being a busy working girl myself I love the look of stitching on cards but don't actually own a sewing machine...so I tend to rock the faux stitching (at least I think I rock it, lol), like what I penned around the edge of my image here.  I colored up this super cute Wryn- Happy Mail (it's available both as a digi and a clear set) with my Copics to match some paper from American Crafts called Yes Please.  I needed a somewhat simple card to send through the mail so had to keep things a little minimal but my favorite part of making those kinds of cards is that the image is truly front and center :)  I hope that you'll pop on over to the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog to check out the other fabulous DT creations there and gets some inspiration- and then if you want please join in, there's two weeks to get your project in and we'd love to see them!

Thanks for stopping by to pay me a visit.  I really hope that you'll pop over to the Some Odd Girl blog to check out the other fab projects from my fellow teamie's using this sketch and then maybe play along as well :)
