Bring on 21!

Hiya crafty peeps!  It's been a while since I've colored up a Saturated Canary stamp so when I got a card order and the person specifically wanted Cali Girl I was super excited to get started!  It was a fun one with some special requests like a camo bikini and some sort of horse incorporation which I was able to do with the paper.  Ultimately I really just got to go all out with the girlie stuff and make it a super special 21st birthday card which I hope she loves :)  Thanks for stopping by to visit me in my little piece of blogland- I hope you've enjoyed your stay!

If the Broom Fits...

Hi all!  I don't know about you but I'm super happy it's Friday...and not just because it's the weekend- although that does garner some major points :)- but because it's Fab Friday over at Tiddly Inks!  Since this Friday also happens to be the 13th we thought we'd go for a spooky type of feel- don't know how well I achieved that here but I think Betty Belfrey could be kinda spooky if she wanted to be :)  I whipped up a fun clean and simple design on this that I actually kind of love in the end!  Plus a fun little sentiment that I just typed up on my computer- love to do little play on words around Halloween- there are so many fun things you can come up with.
I hope that you'll stop on by the blog to see the other spooky creations that the team came up with- there's some totally drool worthy stuff there so you don't want to miss it.  I hope that you enjoy my card- thanks so much for stopping by to visit me :)

Just Floatin' By...

Hiya Peeps!  Just floatin' on by to share my make for Fab Friday over at Tiddly Inks.  I have a slight obsession with Christy's 'Whatever' images- I think it might be the hair, or maybe the little skull on her shirt that you almost miss but gives such personality.  Either way I just can't get enough of coloring this little cutie up so I had to do another one- this is Whatever Floats By- cute as heck right?  I didn't go to crazy on the card- it's hard to do to much on these corrugated cards- but I really like the look of them so I'll keep making them even if they do go more CAS.
I hope that you enjoy and that you'll stop on by the challenge blog and check out the other Fab Friday creations by the design team...they never cease to amaze me!  Thanks for stopping in to visit, I hope everyone has an awesome weekend wherever you are :)

Sea Swept

Hi all!  How's this week going for everyone?  Mine is slowing coming to an end and heading into an action packed weekend filled with family from out of town and lots of fun!  But before that can begin I've got a totally fun new sketch challenge to share from Some Odd Girl.  I had a big layover coming home from Vegas last week so I carried on my Copics and some images to kill time while I was waiting in the airport and this Under the Sea Mae image is what I ended up with.  I waited until I got home to do the background however and wasn't quite sure how it was going to turn out, but in the end I'm pretty happy with it :)
So here is the awesome sketch we have to work with- such a fun one no?  I love how much room for interpretation there always is...

And here's my card...
I obviously flipped it and added some more bits and pieces to it :)  I was super happy with myself because I even used the two sea shell accent stamps that come in the Under the Sea Mae set to make my own background paper!
I hope that you like the sketch- for some more stunning inspiration you've gotta stop by the SOG blog to check out what my other teamies did- they will knock your socks off!  I sure hope that you'll play along with us- you have all month and all you have to do is use a SOG image and follow the sketch...if we reach 50 players there will even be an extra prize in the mix so how can you go wrong?
Thanks for popping by to visit me- I hope that everyone has a fabulous day!

Can You Hear Me Now?

Hi all!  How's it going my crafty peeps?  I'm just trying to get back in the swing of things after CHA (or Create  & Connect as they called it this year) which was fabulous by the way :)  I have pic's so I'll try and do a post with some this week.

BUT...moving on to the good stuff...it's Tuesday which means another sweet digi release over at Some Odd Girl.  This week there's a couple of awesome images but I couldn't resist having a go with Phone Call Mae.  She just strikes me as the perfect image for all those girls in our lives and I think its genius that she's talking on a rotary phone instead of a cell phone- they are so cool!  I hope you like my card and feel inspired to hope on over to the Some Odd Girl blog to see what's cookin' this Tuesday.  While you're there you might take a peek at the DT call going on and keep your eyes peeled for the new August sketch challenge this week as well.
Finally, thanks to everyone for hanging in there with my somewhat erratic posts as of late.  Now that CHA is over I'm planning to get back to business in the blog world :)  Thanks for stopping by to visit- you're the best!!

Best of Friends

Hi all!  Man, time just seems to be getting away from me lately!  But I have been hard at work prepping to go to CHA- I can't believe it but I leave on Saturday!!  You can't see it through the screen (you're welcome) but I'm doing the happy dance right now, lol :)

BUT, enough about that, back to the card!  There's a new digi release over at Some Odd Girl today and it's a great one- I know, I know, I say that every time- but if you're a horse lover this is a fab release for you because one of the images is Horsing Around Mae...so cute right?  I used to take horseback riding lessons from a friend so I colored this up with her in mind and since I love Palimino horses I tried my hand at coloring the horse as one with my Copics- it was kinda tricky to find the right color combo but I think it turned out okay.  Make sure you stop by the SOG blog to see what other projects the team came up with and pop by the store to grab some for your very own!  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit :)

It's Coloring Time!

Hi all!  It's been a fabulous week of coloring over at Some Odd Girl and I'm the last one up with a Copic tutorial :)  If you're interested in seeing a neat little technique that will help you bridge some of the big color gaps you may have in your markers, especially if you're just starting your collection, and also help with blending then please drop on by the blog.  But wait!  That's not all- I also do a little walk through of how I do some shading of some folds too!

I hope this was enough of a teaser to get you to pop on over to the SOG blog to check out the video- I'd sure like to see what you think cause this is only my second time trying to color and sound intelligent all at the same time- it's much harder than you may think...or that might just be me :)  But I love hearing what you think and if you have any suggestions.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Missing You

Hi all!  Well, as promised I'm back with another cutie from this month's clear stamp release over at Some Odd Girl.  I have to say, this is one of my favorite releases to date- the image's are just so pretty and super versatile which is always a plus in my book :)  Today we're featuring Miss You Mae- isn't she just gorgeous?!?  I colored her up with my Copics to match some of my favorite papers right now- the MME Find Your Wings and Fly collection- and made a shaped card with some of my dies.  These shaped cards are still kinda tricky because I'm used to doing squares but it's a good challenge to get me out of my comfort zone :)
I hope that you'll pop on over to the SOG blog to check out the rest of the amazing projects that the rest of the team put together- there's some serious talent in the group of ladies!  And don't forget about the monthly sketch challenge that's currently going- it's tons of fun and there's still plenty of time to join in :)  Thanks for stopping by to pay me a visit!!

Dare to be Unique

Hi all!  Can you believe it's the beginning of a new week already?  Is it just me or do the weekends disappear in a flash?  Well, I got some major non-crafty things done this weekend- cleaned out my closets and drawers of all clothes that no longer fit (I've been getting healthier and its starting to show!) and took them to donate.  Then tried to find a few cute things to replace my now mostly empty closet :)  Had a fabulous Father's Day- my sister and I treated the dad's to dinner on us and it was full of good food and lots of laughter.
I did have some time for crafting though and it's a good thing because CHA is coming quickly and I'm going to be there this year with Some Odd Girl- yay!!!  But before that happens there are still a ton of fun things going on at SOG- one of which is a new clear release this week.  I'm pretty sure you're going to love them; I know I sure do!  To start off we're revealing Dare To Be Gwen- you might remember I had a sneak peek of her all the way back in April- but now she's finally here.  I absolutely love coloring her up and she's perfect for just about any type of card.  Because of that I left this particular one without a sentiment so that I can customize it once I know what it will be used for.
I hope that you like my card- make sure to hop on over to the SOG blog to see some more amazing creations featuring Dare To Be Gwen by my fellow teamies :)  And keep a look out because I'll be back Wednesday with a look at one of the other awesome images being released!  Thanks for stopping by!

Life is Sweet

Hi all!  I can't believe it's Tuesday already- man the time just flies by!  But there's an awesome thing about Tuesday's- it's time for a new challenge over at Tiddly Inks :)  This time we're looking for projects showcasing some 'Summer Sun'- basically just break out those summer papers, images and/or colors and come play along!  I've used the Sweets for My Sweet clear stamp set for my card and used some bright and summery colors on my clean and simple card.  I'm getting more comfortable with this style the more I stretch myself to use it and I'm pretty happy with how this turned out :)  I sure hope that you'll stop by the blog and check out the other wonderful summer cards that my teamies put together.  And thanks as always for stopping by to pay me a visit!

Wishing You...

Hi all!  Guess what?  There's a new digi release over at Tiddly Inks today and it couldn't be more perfect for those of us headed into summer!  It's a beautiful little mermaid...sure makes me wish I was somewhere sitting on a beach drinking some sort of fruity little drink that comes with an umbrella in it :)  But, alas, I'm stuck here working away watching the sun through my office window....guess I'll just have to keep coloring up cuties like this to help keep me in the summer mood till the weekend!  Please pop on over to the Tiddly Inks blog to see all the other wonderful projects that the rest of the TI crew put together- and if you feel so inclines- pop on over to the store to grab a mermaid of your very own, lol!  Thanks as always for stopping by to visit :)

Just Chillin'

Hi all!  How's it going?  My week is flying by as I've been busy catching up at work (yuck!) but the bright side is that means the weekend gets here faster so I guess I'll take what I can get, lol :)  I'm just popping in to share a new little make that's featuring one of the new digi images that was released yesterday at Some Odd Girl- her name is Chill Kaylee and, I know I say this pretty much every time I color a new image, but I'm seriously in love with her!  She is somehow super cute but also totally cool all at the same time- I can't even be those things individually most of the time so I'm not quite sure how she pulls it off :)  I hope that you'll stop by the SOG blog to get some more inspiration and then maybe pop into the shop to grab her- one of the best things about digi's is it's instant gratification at a super price so it's hard to pass them by...just ask my checking account!  As always, thanks so much for stopping by to visit my little slice of the world wide web- I hope you've enjoyed yourself!

Catch of the Day

Hi all!  Boo- I'm back from vacation...but Yay cause I'm back in my craft room :)  Vacations are great but it's always nice to come back home.  To help kick things off I'm back with the new challenge over at Tiddly Inks- Masculine projects.  Now, for those of you who've known me for a while, you know I don't really do the whole masculine thing (my family is much more on the girlie side of the spectrum, lol) so this is always a tough one for me.  But I had a ton of cute images to choose from over in the Tiddly Inks shop and I couldn't resist coloring up the image called Ricky- is he not just the cutest?  I kept things pretty simple since I can't use my fall back, go to embellie's like bling and flowers on a masculine card, lmbo :)  I hope that you like the finished project- be sure to check out the challenge blog for more awesome inspiration from the DT.  And hopefully you'll be so inspired you'll want to join in with us- you have two full weeks to play, just make sure you use a Tiddly Inks image- see, easy peasy!  Hope everyone is having a fabulous week so far!

Hi all!  Just popping in to share another make with one of the new fairy releases from Tiddly Inks :)  This sign was inspired by my two little cousins that I'm currently visiting- they are total cutie pies and I figured it was something they'd love to hang on their bedroom door!  I hope that you like it- don't forget to pop on over to the Tiddly Inks and check out these new images, they are going like hotcakes!

The Tassel is Worth It

Hi all!  I'm currently on vacation visiting family but wanted to share a card that I made for a friend- I gave her 3 custom cards as her Christmas gift and she asked for me to make one that was a cool graduation card.  The main thing she asked was if I could find an awesome image that had a more urban feel and some big, super cool hair- I instantly thought of this image Bling Baby by Kenny K.  I colored her up and paired her with a pretty background of a cityscape and sunset for a clean and simple card.  The sentiment is one I saw online and then just typed up in Word.  The best part was when I delivered the card my friend flipped over how similar the image looked to her friend- I love it when people see the card and say it's a perfect match to who they wanted it for :)  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit and for taking a look at this little blog of mine- ya'll rock!

**Gasp** Sorry everyone- I can't believe it but I forgot to write down my colors!  Please, don't throw rotten tomato's, lol!

A Helping Hand

Hi all!  It's been a little quiet here on this little blog of mine- I'm getting ready to go on a little road trip with my sis so I've been trying to get everything in order for while I'm gone.  Between my regular work and card stuff that's no small endeavor- I'm sure you've all been there :)  But it's a new Tiddly Tuesday with a brand new challenge- Image Show Off!  It's a super fun one- just use a Wryn image of you chosing and show her off...easy peasy right?

I had this cute little Wryn- New Wing all colored up because I was going to use her on a get well card that I ended up not needing so I was trying to figure out how to use her.  Now I used to work at a daycare (for a loooong time peeps) and when summer hit that meant lots of field trips and lunches at the park which always meant you had to have your first aid kit along for the ride- because with that many kids you know you're going to need a band-aid at some point- am I right?!?  So I thought why not make a super cute First Aid kit- it would be an awesome little gift for a teacher or daycare provider :)  Not too many embellishments because this would definitely be getting thrown in a backpack or purse but kids love cool little stuff like this so fill it with some cool, fun band-aids and they're sure to love it!  Thanks for popping by this little blog of mine to visit and make sure you check out the challenge blog for some more awesome inspiration!

Time for Tea

Hi all!  It's the 1st of the month and you know what that means- a new sketch challenge over at Some Odd Girl :)  We've got this gorgeous sketch to work with:
sketch2
I love the sketches at SOG because they give you a lot of room for interpretation!  This time I went a little more true to the basic sketch because I tried my hand at a boys card- they are definitely my achiles heel in cards but I've heard practice makes perfect- or at least a little better- so I just keep trying every now and then :)  If you're a Wednesday Live Color Along fan from the Ustream show that Kristy does then you'll recognize Mad Hatter Kody as the image she did last week and it definitely stretched my Copic boundaries!  Those pants were a challenge, and about half way through I thought the image was destined for the trash bin, but I stuck with it and I think they turned out okay.  Have you ever tried to do patterns like that?  How'd it go for you?  Well, I sure do hope that you'll stop on by the Some Odd Girl blog to see all the other inspiration from the DT- they always knock my socks off!  And thanks as always for popping by to pay me a visit :)
