Can You Hear Me Now?

Hi all!  How's it going my crafty peeps?  I'm just trying to get back in the swing of things after CHA (or Create  & Connect as they called it this year) which was fabulous by the way :)  I have pic's so I'll try and do a post with some this week.

BUT...moving on to the good stuff...it's Tuesday which means another sweet digi release over at Some Odd Girl.  This week there's a couple of awesome images but I couldn't resist having a go with Phone Call Mae.  She just strikes me as the perfect image for all those girls in our lives and I think its genius that she's talking on a rotary phone instead of a cell phone- they are so cool!  I hope you like my card and feel inspired to hope on over to the Some Odd Girl blog to see what's cookin' this Tuesday.  While you're there you might take a peek at the DT call going on and keep your eyes peeled for the new August sketch challenge this week as well.
Finally, thanks to everyone for hanging in there with my somewhat erratic posts as of late.  Now that CHA is over I'm planning to get back to business in the blog world :)  Thanks for stopping by to visit- you're the best!!

You're Too Sweet

Hi all!  It's a Tuesday which means we're coming at you with a brand new challenge over at Tiddly Inks and its one that I think you're going to love- Summer Treats!  Now I went about as literal as can be with this one and pulled together a little CAS card using the Sweets for my Sweet clear stamp set.  I always struggle to have enough thank you cards on hand so I thought this would be the perfect way to start off a set that I can just keep stashed away for myself :)  I hope that you'll stop on by the TI Challenge blog to see the rest of the inspiration and maybe play along.  And don't forget about the DT call going on- we'd love to see you throw your hat in the ring!  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me!

Best of Friends

Hi all!  Man, time just seems to be getting away from me lately!  But I have been hard at work prepping to go to CHA- I can't believe it but I leave on Saturday!!  You can't see it through the screen (you're welcome) but I'm doing the happy dance right now, lol :)

BUT, enough about that, back to the card!  There's a new digi release over at Some Odd Girl today and it's a great one- I know, I know, I say that every time- but if you're a horse lover this is a fab release for you because one of the images is Horsing Around Mae...so cute right?  I used to take horseback riding lessons from a friend so I colored this up with her in mind and since I love Palimino horses I tried my hand at coloring the horse as one with my Copics- it was kinda tricky to find the right color combo but I think it turned out okay.  Make sure you stop by the SOG blog to see what other projects the team came up with and pop by the store to grab some for your very own!  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit :)

It's Coloring Time!

Hi all!  It's been a fabulous week of coloring over at Some Odd Girl and I'm the last one up with a Copic tutorial :)  If you're interested in seeing a neat little technique that will help you bridge some of the big color gaps you may have in your markers, especially if you're just starting your collection, and also help with blending then please drop on by the blog.  But wait!  That's not all- I also do a little walk through of how I do some shading of some folds too!

I hope this was enough of a teaser to get you to pop on over to the SOG blog to check out the video- I'd sure like to see what you think cause this is only my second time trying to color and sound intelligent all at the same time- it's much harder than you may think...or that might just be me :)  But I love hearing what you think and if you have any suggestions.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

A Little Birdie

Hi all!  I hope that those in the US had a fabulous and fun 4th of July- mine was spent with family just hanging out and having fun :)  But the lovely long weekend just blew right by me and I can't believe it's Tuesday again!  Luckily Tuesday's are a big day over at Tiddly Inks and we're kicking off a brand new challenge that I have a feeling you're going to love- Fairies and Mermaids.  That's right- time to pull out those fabulous images that are totally sweet and show us what you got.  I chose to use Fairy Tenderhearted for a clean and simple card- I love doing these types of cards with my TI images so they can really shine!  I hope that you'll stop on by the challenge blog to see the rest of the amazing inspiration the DT has put together...and don't forget, there's a rare Tiddly Inks design team call going on right now and we would love to see you throw your hat in the ring :)  Thanks so much for popping by to visit!!

Life Is Good

Hi all!  Guess what?  It's another Tuesday which means a fab new digi release at Some Odd Girl!  And, to steal a word from my friend Miss Fluff, there's a decidedly mythical feel this time around- case in point- meet Merman Kody!  He's one little hottie don't you think?  I just wish that Kristy could draw abs like that on me so I could call it a day :)  I really wanted to pair him up with Sea Song Mae because I think they would make a super cute under the sea couple but I just plain ran out of time for all that coloring- oh well, another project for the future!  Please make sure and stop on by the blog to see more incredible inspiration from this digi release and then, if you feel that irrisistable pull, head over to the shop for some instant gratification shopping (I know, I'm a terrible influence!) :)  Thanks for popping in to visit me!!

Everyday Magic

Hi all!  Can you believe it's the beginning of July already?  I swear this summer is just flying by- and I've got lots going on so I'm sure that's only going to continue :)  But, the beginning of a new month means a new sketch challenge over at Some Odd Girl!  I don't know about you but sketches are one of my favorite types of challenges because you can stick exactly to the sketch or you can challenge yourself and see how far you can take it...so here's the sketch for this month:

Awesome no?  So I stuck a little more true to the sketch this time around and here's what I came up with:
I had this image Fairy Magic colored up with the no lines technique as part of the 30 day Coloring Challenge that's happening over in the SOG Ning Community but hadn't done anything with her yet so I figured it was time to put her on a card :)  I paired her with some papers from MME and Kaisercraft and then added some simple embellishments like the twine and enamel dots.  Then the sketch left the perfect place to stamp a sentiment so I used the matching one from the stamp set :)  I hope that you will pop on over to the blog to see the other amazing inspiration from the rest of the DT and take the plunge to join us- if we reach 50 entries there'll be an extra prize in the mix so you definitely don't want to miss it!  And, as always, thanks for stopping by to pay me a visit- you all rock!

Copics- I can't find my notes on what colors I used here so this is my best guess :)
