ABC's & 123's

Hi All!  Time for a look at another School Pinkette image from the new release over at Tickled Pink Stamps- I'd like to introduce Kira!  Is she not the cutest?  I love the pencils tucked in her hair and those adorable socks!  Of course she was a blast to color- especially all that hair...wish I had hair like that :)  I paired her with some paper from Fancy Pants called Off to School and added some letter tags that have been in my stash forever and some number stickers.  I didn't do much else because the paper already had a lot going on and I didn't want it to be too busy.  I hope you like School Pinkette Kira as much as I do- make sure to head on over to the Tickled Pink Stamps blog to check out the other stunning creations done by my fellow teamies...and don't forget to leave a comment when you're there for a chance to win a Kira of your very own :)

Ideas

Hi All!  So this is really a post for the new School Days Pinkette Release over at Tickled Pink Stamps but I'm thinking you're probably wondering where the heck I've been right?  So I figure I'll tackle that first and then get to the fun stuff :)  I know I've casually mentioned that the hospital where I work is under going a full computer system change over- well, we go live on Monday and the road has been a little bumpy- like 15 hours of overtime a week for the last month or so while we converted some 30,000 appointments for our department into the new system bumpy!  Thankfully that's now complete and we are actually making the change- this next week should be interesting to say the least but I'm so looking forward to being able to have my life back again and to be back coloring and making cards- you can't believe how much I've missed it- and missed all of you!

So without further ado here's the project that's helping me get back into the swing of things!  I feel like I say this every time we have a Pinkette release but I really do love these stamps!  They are an absolute blast to color and are so versatile- whenever I see the new images for the first time I can instantly envision how I want to use them.  This School Days release is so much fun and this little gal Chloe is one of my absolute favorites!  I love the cute little bob haircut and sweet school girl uniform- I mean how can you not just want to color her up right?  I decided to do something a little different this time- I've used one of those large wooden clothes pins and covered it with some plaid paper from We R Memory Keepers to match her skirt; added some ribbon from Pebbles and a safety pin from Tim Holtz that says 'Ideas' on it and finished it off with some flowers to balance it out.  I envisioned using this as a little photo holder with a first day of school picture sticking out the top of it- I actually found an old photo of one of my first days of school, backpack and all, but the photo was so old and dark that I couldn't get it to turn out in any of the pictures that I took.  Oh well, guess I'll just have to put you to work using those amazing creative minds of yours to picture what it could hold :)  Thank you so much for stopping by and seeing me after my absence- I hope to never have to be away for so long ever again, lol!  I also hope that you love little School Days Chloe as much as I do- please stop by over at the Tickled Pink Stamps blog to check out all the other AH-MA-ZING creations done by my fellow teamies and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win this little cutie!

Adore

Hi All!  Guess what?  It's time for a new Pinkette release over at Tickled Pink Stamps!  I just love these little cuties- they are so easy to work with and an absolute blast to color :)  We've got an awesome Easter release and one of the things I love most about Lil Easter Pinkette Daisy August is that she would be perfect for so many types of cards year round, not just springtime.  I did something a little different this time around- just got to switch things up every now and then right?- and took what was supposed to be a cardboard frame to use on a scrapbooking page with a picture and instead distressed it with a white ink pad and some white embossing powder, sanded the edges and then backed it with some design paper from Lilybee Designs.  Then I mounted that on an A7 white card base and cut the excess card off.  Its a much smaller workspace than I'm used to working on but that actually made it really easy to embellish because I filled it up quickly with some of my favorite things like bling, flowers, a charm and a metal ribbon slider that I've seriously had in my stash for an embarrassingly long time.  I can already tell the this little August is quickly going to become a favorite of mine so you'll probably see her in the near future :)  Please, please, please go and check out the Tickled Pink Stamps blog for more stunning projects from my fellow teamies- I'm always picking my jaw up off the floor when I see all the awesomeness that these ladies create- and leave a comment for a chance to win the adorable Daisy August!

Hey U

Hi All!  I'm so excited to be taking part in a review of the Pinkette releases over at Tickled Pink Stamps!  I decided to color up one of my favorites- this is Coraline- and since I'm fairly new to the DT I thought it would be fun to use an image that I purchased when the Pinkette's made their first debut, long before I became a proud part of the TPS family :)  I colored Coraline up with my Copics to match my papers from MME Lost & Found Market Street, I just love the soft pretty feel that these paper's have, and threw in some of my favorite things like a pearl flourish, some flowers and a cute little bingo card that I've been waiting to use.  I hope that you like this little trip down memory lane; hop on over to the Tickled Pink Stamps blog for some more looks back at some of these adorable stamps!

Just For You

Hi All!  Its time for another preview of the new Lil Party Pinkette release from Tickled Pink Stamps and today I've got one of my favorites, Pippa, to share with you :)  One of the reasons I love Pippa so much is because she is soooo much fun to color and this release does not disappoint I promise you!  I paired her with some papers from Echo Park called Victorian Garden because they are so fun and bright which seems to fit a birthday image so well.  I have to admit my mojo must have gone MIA on this one because I still feel like it's missing something...but for the life of me I couldn't quite figure out what it was.  So I like it but it still feels a little plain to me...it's a good thing that my image is so stinkin' cute because hopefully your eye will just get drawn to her :)  I want to give a quick Happy Birthday to Tickled Pink Stamps for turning 2!  How exciting is that?!?  Make sure you hop on over to the blog so you can see the other adorable projects by the DT and don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win this little cutie for yourself!

J'Adore Birthday Girl

Hi All!  I hope everyone is having a great week :)  Mine's been busy as usual but October is always a great month at work- it's so fun to see pink pop up all over and the support that's given to Breast Cancer Awareness.  Now I know it probably seems like there was just a release at Tickled Pink but that was the super special pink ribbon release so I'm here to help share the new full Pinkette release for October and I'm sure you are going to love these Lil Party Pinkettes!  I love party images because they can be used for so many different kinds of cards and I make a TON of birthday cards so I love anything that works for those :)  Today I get to show off Lil Party Pinkette Coraline- she looks so cute in her pretty party dress which was soooo much fun to color with my Copics.  I used some more papers from the MME Lost & Found 2 Blush set and went the soft and pretty route after finding the paper with the Eiffel Tower on it which seems to suit Coraline perfectly.  I hope you find yourself loving Lil Party Pinkette Coraline as much as I do and don't forget to stop on over at the Tickled Pink Stamps blog for a glimpse of the other jaw dropping creations by my fellow DT girlies and a chance to win this little cutie for yourself!

Charity's Hope

Hi All!  I'm back with the second image from the special Pink Ribbon Day release over at Tickled Pink Stamps!  I'm pleased to be showing off sweet little Charity today :)  I just love her curly hair and that gorgeous ribbon she's holding high.  When I was working through what kind of layout I was going to have for this card I was thinking that I was going to use different sizes of the same die with my papers- only once I sent the paper thru my Big Shot things just weren't looking the way I'd been imaging so I was kinda just sitting there glancing around my desk for some inspiration and saw the 'negative space' leftover paper from using the die and the imaginary light bulb that you see in cartoons went on over my head- and trust me this really doesn't happen all that often and even when it does it tends to be a low voltage bulb so I figured I'd better roll with it while it was shining relatively brightly :)  Anyway, it looked kinda like a frame so that's actually how I used it- as a frame or border for the card.  I quite like the effect so I'm going to try and keep that in mind the next time I'm struggling for a layout.  I didn't embellish too much because I loved Charity as a little bit bigger of an image so she fit perfectly center stage on the card.  Now trust me when I say that you're most definitely going to want to hop on over to the Tickled Pink Stamps blog if you haven't already been and get a good look at the other amazing projects that the rest of the girls have come up with- they truly are inspiring :)

Think Pink

Hi All!  I'm so excited to share something very special going on over at Tickled Pink Stamps this month...owner Kellie, who's located in Australia, is having an amazing special release of some very inspiring images for Pink Ribbon Day which is the equivalent of Breast Cancer Awareness month in the States.  Today I'd like to introduce you to Hope...but first something I don't think I've shared yet on my blog is a little about what I actually do for my day job and it makes this release extra special...I hope you don't mind if a take a minute (or two) to explain.  For the last 7 years I've been working in the Breast Care Services department at the largest local hospital in my state.  We do everything from routine screening mammograms to biopsy's, cancer diagnosis and both pre and post breast surgery procedures.  In addition we have a large mobile mammography program that travels throughout the state, and even some bordering states, rural areas to be able to bring our services directly to the patients in these sometimes under served areas.

To say it's a rewarding but sometimes difficult job, even on the clerical side as I am, seems like an understatement.  I've seen women who've been proudly getting their routine mammograms for more years than I've been alive and who continue to come every year religiously.  I've seen nervous and scared first timers who don't know yet how to separate the internet jokes from the reality of what getting a mammogram actually is and feels like.  I've watched supportive families and friends come in with their mothers/wives/sisters/daughters as they have a biopsy done.  And I've also witnessed loving family and friends accompany some of those same scared woman as they come in for surgery after having been told they have the 'C' word.  But one of the best things about my job is that if you do it long enough you also get to see some of those same scared woman triumphantly celebrate each little milestone along the road to being cancer free.  And to be able to lend support, give a giggle or just do my best to help in any way possible with all these situations or experiences is a blessing :)

So the fact that these images bring awareness to something that touches my life daily in so many ways is very exciting for me!  They will be on sale for the whole month of October, starting on the 4th,  and all of the proceeds will go straight to supporting Pink Ribbon Day.  Now how about you finally get to see this card of mine eh?  Tickled Pink Stamps happens to be sponsoring Sketch Saturday this week so I've used their sketch so I can play along- I sure hope you'll join me!  And don't forget to stop by the Tickled Pink Stamps blog to see some other amazing work from my fellow DT members and some very talented guests :)

Have A Jolly Day

Hi All!  Well, here we are winding down on the Lil Christmas Pinkette sneak peeks from Tickled Pink Stamps and I've got one more adorable image to share with you.  This little cutie is Pippa and she is always one of my favorites to play with :)  I wanted to do a card with some nontraditional Christmas colors because I think the Pinkette's lend themselves nicely to cute and bright so I dug some of this My Minds Eye Colorful Christmas paper out of my stash and got to work...it's definitely not your typical Christmas card but I think that's exactly why I like it- things are always fun when you're playing outside the box :)  If you love Pippa as much as I do don't forget to drop in over at the Tickled Pink Stamps blog for a chance to win her and to see the other amazing creations by the rest of the design team- I promise they never disappoint!

Believe

Hi All!  So, you know those moments- the ones where your 'mojo' or 'inspiration' kicks into overdrive?  Where you see something- a particular patterened paper or a stamp and your mind just kind of explodes with not just one way to use it but a ton of different ways...where you literally find yourself thinking about it and what you can create until you finally get the chance to sit down and do it?  For whatever reason this Lil Christmas August Pinkette from the new release was that way for me...I don't know if its the adorable coat and hat or the movement of the wind that caught me but whatever it was I couldn't wait to get started with her.  I colored her with my Copics and used some Diamond Stickles for the trim on her coat and boots.  Then I used a gold glitter pen to accent the movement lines for the wind.  Then, while at my local scrapbooking store, I came across this 6x6 Holiday collection paper pack by Webster's Pages (not sure how I've missed it before!) and fell in love with it as well.  Once home I couldn't think of anything better than to combine the two things that were making me go into creative overdrive and this is the result!  All the pieces for this came together so easily, it's probably one of the fastest cards I've ever made.  And the final result is definitely something I love...I just look forward to getting to use this stamp again because I have a feeling it's going to be a new found favorite :)  I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do!  Make sure to drop by the Tickled Pink Stamps blog for some more incredible inspiration from my fellow DT lovelies and a chance to win this adorable stamp!

Let It Snow!

Hi All!  I hope you've been enjoying the sneak peaks of the new Lil Christmas release over at Tickled Pink Stamps- I've sure been having fun playing with these lil Pinkette cuties :)  Today I've got our songbird Faith to show you.  A little bit ago I shared how I used to be a singer and was excited to partake in a challenge where we were supposed to use sheet music on our card...I've been waiting to pull that little trick out of my hat again and this stamp seemed the perfect one to do that with considering she's caroling :)  I went with a sort of snowflake theme based on the Bo Bunny papers I had and so it seemed fitting to showcase the sheet music for a Christmas favorite of mine "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow".  Now when I went to put the card together I realized that I'd probably have to crop Faith down to get the right balance in my layout, not something I'd been anticipating when I started (its crazy how ideas change in the midst of creating huh?) so I'd already colored the full image up and taken a picture of it so you can see that below.  I hope you enjoy and don't hate me too much if you walk away from this post with a Christmas song stuck in your head in September :)  Please drop in to the Tickled Pink Stamps blog to check out the rest of the stunning projects by my fellow DT'ers and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win this little songbird!

A Tickled Pink Happy Holidays

Hi All!  Boy, it's been a while huh?  Had just a few things going on- I turned 30!  I was having a hard time with this one so my friends and family really made it special by spreading the birthday celebration out over about 5 days...it was perfect :)  Another thing is one of my best friends is pregnant and I've been making loads of baby shower invites- I promise to show those a little later.  BUT now I'm back and get to share the other thing that's been keeping me busy- a fabulous new release we're previewing over at Tickled Pink Stamps for the new Lil Christmas Pinkette stamps!  I'm so excited for this release because Christmas is one of my favorite holidays and what cuter stamps are there to get to play with in anticipation?  First off I've got Coraline here with her mistletoe...now she just needs a little cutie to hold that over so she can snag a little smooch :)  She was so much fun to color up with my Copics and I kept it pretty traditional with the standard red and green in my papers from a new paper pad by Teresa Collins called 'Christmas Home'.  I hope you enjoy and be sure to stop by the Tickled Pink Stamps blog to check out all the other gorgeous projects by the rest of the talented DT- they always blow me away- and a chance to win this cutie :)

The Witching Hour- Lil' Pinkette Haunting Witch Audrey Preview

Hi All!  I've got one final preview to show you from the new Spinks & Spooks line over at Tickled Pink Stamps and I hope you love her as much as I do!  It's little witch Audrey and she is all dressed to the nines to go trick or treating black pointy hat and all.  I went with the traditional Halloween colors this time around and had a blast coloring her up with my Copics.  I decided to throw some of my favorite things on this card so there's some bling, some flowers and another of the canvas tickets from Little Yellow Bicycle....you wanna know a secret?  Of course you do :)  I'm going to get a lot of mileage out of these tags because they were actually supposed to be a border for a 12x12 page and there were two complete strips in the package, so when I cut them up I've got a nice little pile that should last me a while!  I hope you enjoy my card and remember to hop on over to the store blog to not only see some amazing, out-of-this-world inspiration from the rest of the design team, but a chance to win this stamp from the ever generous Kellie, owner of Tickled Pink Stamps!

Hi All!  Time for another sneaky peek from the new Spinks and Spooks release we're counting down to over at Tickled Pink Stamps!  Today I've got the super swashbuckling Pirate Patrick- is he not just the cutest thing ever?!?  He was so much fun to color up with my Copics and I had a blast picking out some cool pirate stuff to pair him with like those awesome skull and crossbones brads from Creative Imaginations.  The sentiment is just something that I thought up and printed out from my computer using the Chiller font and then I dirtied it up a bit with some Tim Holtz Pumice Stone Distress Ink so the white wasn't so in your face.  I have definitely fallen in love with this new release and I hope you feel the same as you check out all the sneak peeks from the week.  Remember the ever generous Kellie, owner of Tickled Pink Stamps, has a great opportunity to win this stamp so please hop over to the store blog to see all the other fabulous creations from the DT and your chance to win!

Lil Pinkette Haunting Fairy Coraline Preview

Hi All!  I'm so excited to bring you my first preview as a new Pinkette DT member!  I've got the lovely Lil Pinkette Haunting Fairy Coraline who is part of the new Spinks & Spooks release that we're counting down to over on the Tickled Pink Stamps blog.  I had so much fun coloring her up with my Copics; she's just so darn cute- it reminds me of when I was little and Halloween was an excuse to get to be a princess or fairy and wear makeup :)  This card ended up being a funny combo of more pastel colors and black to try and pull in a little of the traditional Halloween feel.  I used Flowersoft for the first time on the bottom of her dress and have to say I LOVE that stuff!  I also added some Platimum Stickles to her wings because lets face it- Halloween is one of the times where we're totally allowed to be a little over the top with all things shiny and sparkly :)  Now the lovely Kellie, owner of Tickled Pink Stamps, is always super generous during previews so be sure to hop over to the store blog for a look at all the lovely sneak peeks and leave a comment for a chance to win a stamp!
