A Rose for You

Hiya crafty peeps!  I can't believe it but another month has flown right on by (doesn't help that February is short I guess, lol) which means it's time for a new challenge over at Some Odd Girl.  For all my peeps that love bling this is going to be a fun one because we want to see your Pot O'Gold!  Which is really just a fancy way of saying show us all the gold that you can- it can be paper, mists, embellishments, bling- you name it, and it's gold, we want to be blinded by it :)  I used Pick a Posy Mae and took the opportunity to pair her with some new washi tape from Pink Fresh Studios that I picked up from the Paper Issues Store- I freakin' love this stuff!- and one of the gorgeous gold doilies that you can actually find in the SOG shop.  So stop on over to the SOG blog to feast your eyes on the inspiration awaiting you there and then pull on out all that is shiny and join on in- you've got all month!
As always, thanks so much for stopping by to visit- you make me smile with every click and comment!

Pinch to Grow an Inch

Hiya crafty peeps!  Checking in with you this weekend to let you know that it's the first of the month which means a brand new challenge over at Some Odd Girl- yay :)  This month we want to see masking and/or misting on your creations.  To be an overachiever (yea right, lol) I decided do both- I masked one of my stamp images, the elephants from the On Safari clear set, to get the look that one was standing in front of the other.  Then I misted my doily that's on the card with some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Tinsel- it's the first time I've used it and it's a very pretty silver with a hint of blue in it.  I know that misting is super popular so if masking isn't your thing then mist away and come join us- there's some goodies up for grabs :)  Can't wait to see all the cool stuff you guys come up with!  Thanks for stopping by to visit me- stay tuned for some fun release cards coming at you next week :)

Epic

Hiya crafty peeps!  Well, this finds me back at home from CHA- wow, what a trip!  And now it's time to get back into the swing of things here at home- luckily there's a new challenge over at Tiddly Inks to get me started on the right foot...this time we want to see some Tags :)  I have to admit, I had never really been a tag maker but in the last year or so I find myself loving making them.  I know I'm going to be doing some 'boy' presents here soon so I figured I could get a head start on those tags with my little make for the challenge...so I colored up My Batty Hero with my Copics and then dug for some boy paper in my stash- I'm not sure but I think it's from Little Yellow Bicycle.  To finish things off right I found this tag from Chic Tags that just seemed perfect!  I hope you like my little make and will stop on by the TI Challenge blog so you can play along with us!

Purrfectly Sweet

Hi all!  It's a brand new Tuesday which means there's a new challenge over at Tiddly Inks!  This has slowly become one of my favorites although I know not many of my teamies were excited about it, lol- we'd like to see you do something Clean & Simple :)  I used the clear set Cat Fever to put together my CAS card and to keep it 'simple' I only added a small piece of design paper from American Crafts, some twine from the Twinery and a button that was just hanging out in my stash.  I hope that you like my little make- please stop by the TI Challenge blog to check out some more inspiration and maybe play along with us!
On a personal note I'll be headed to CHA in the morning so if you want to follow along and get a behind the scenes look at things keep an eye out on my Instagram as I plan on sharing pics :)

Tag It!

Hiya crafty peeps!  Did everyone have a great holiday?  I sure did- lots of fun, laughter and great food as always which has definitely made it difficult to get back into things.  Thankfully there's a new challenge over at Some Odd Girl for the month of January to help me get back into the swing of things :)  This month we want to see you get creative with tags!  So you can make one or get creative and use them on your cards or layouts.  For my entry I pulled out all the stops and actually created a custom luggage tag!  I can't for the life of me remember where I picked these up but they are black plastic and have little pockets for you to put your masterpiece in- bonus is they will make it even easier to pick out my bags when all the luggage looks the same around the carousel :)  I used the Breakfast Friends clear set to stamp out a coffee cup (because coffee is literally my drug of choice, lol) and got my coloring on.  To keep things simple I just took some matching washi tape to accent the top and then wrote my name in free hand.
I hope that you enjoy this little make of mine!  Please stop on by the blog for some more inspiration from the rest of the team and then come on and join us with a tag project of your very own- we love seeing what all you amazingly creative people come up with and there's prizes to be won!

Candy Cane Joy

Hi crafty peeps!  It's a new Tuesday and this week that means there's a new challenge over at Tiddly Inks!  It's a pretty easy one- we just want to see Anything Christmas :)  I figure most of us are making holiday cards anyway so why not join in?  I've used Lilli Claire Sweet Christmas Dreams for my little card and I accidentally made her a little bigger than I'd anticipated- but that just meant that she got to take center stage.  I colored her with my Copics and paired her with some paper from MME; add a couple of my favorite Christmas embellishments- jingle bells- and a sentiment from Jillibean Soup and that's all she wrote :)  I hope that you'll stop on by the challenge blog for some more inspiration and will join us with a make of your own!

Snowball Fun

Hiya crafty peeps!  Boy, am I feeling refreshed after a fabulous Thanksgiving...it was full of family, food, laughter and a few (or more!) bottles of wine :)  It definitely got me in the right frame of mind for starting some Christmas cards so when I sat down to make my card for the new Some Odd Girl challenge this month I knew exactly what image I wanted to use- Snowball Tia.  She is just so stinkin' cute how can you not have a blast coloring her up?  It's a fun challenge this time around too- lots of space to do something totally creative- because we want to see you create your own backgrounds!  There are tons of things you can do- get inky with it, put some of your favorite washi tape to good use- but since I'd already picked out my image I decided to try a white on white card for the first time to give that feeling of snow so I just pulled out an embossing folder and let it do all the work!  I hope that you like my card and that you'll stop on by the SOG blog to take a look at what the other super talented team members came up with for some added inspiration.  Then you have all month so why don't you join us and play along?  Thanks for stopping by my little piece of blogland today- keep your eyes out because it's going to be a busy week around here with lots of fun stuff coming at you!

Snowflake

Hiya crafty peeps!  It's a new Tuesday which means a new challenge over at Tiddly Inks!  To keep things sweet and simple we've got an Anything Goes challenge for you- couldn't be easier right?  Well I couldn't resist coloring up this cutie from the new clear stamp set Holly Jolly Christmas- I know, I know, it's a little early for total Christmas but I seriously couldn't wait another minute to color her up :)  I had this wooden snowflake ornament that I colored red with my Copics and then popped her on.  I hope that you like it and that you'll join us over at Tiddly Inks!

Bring On the Cake

Hi all!  Can you believe that it's November already?  I mean, where the heck did last month go!  Well one nice thing about starting a new month is there's a new challenge over at  Some Odd Girl- now that's something I can get excited about :)  This month we want to see you use Speech Bubbles on your projects!  Super easy to do but if you want a little helping hand Kristy has some Speech Bubble cut files in the store that should do the job.  I don't have a fancy die cut machine (yet!) so I settled for a wood veneer speech bubble that I paired up with Mae Antoinette.  I went a little more clean and simple with the card cause I really wanted my image and the speech bubble to stand out.  I hope you like my card and that you'll stop on by the SOG blog to see the other amazing projects that the team came up with.  And then you've got all month to play along so I hope to see some familiar faces there!  Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend :)

Batty For You

Hi all!  Today is another awesome Tuesday and kicks off a brand new challenge over at Tiddly Inks- this week we want to see your Halloween Creepy Cute creations :)  For my project I used one of Christy's newer images called Batty For You because she seems to fit 'creepy and cute' perfectly!  I colored her up with my Copics and paired her with some fantastic Halloween papers from Doodlebug Designs (these are seriously my season fav this year!) then assembled some of my favorite embellishments to finish things off.  I hope that you'll join in with us for some Halloween fun and don't forget to stop on by the blog to see the other awesome creations the team put together.  And, as always, thanks so much for stopping by to visit me!!

Hello There

Hiya crafty peeps!  I've been dying to share something with you for a while now and it's finally time- I get to spend another term on the Some Odd Girl design team :)  I'm so excited to kick off another six months- the last term was amazing and I can't wait to keep the momentum going!  To get things started there's a new monthly challenge and the team is switching things up a bit by doing more than just sketches this time around; we get to start with something that is definitely quite the trend- Ombre!
This was so much fun- I used some papers that had the ombre effect and also used my Copics to color and ombre look to the little frame around my image which is Mae from the Fall Friends clear set.
I've been spending a lot of time looking at scrapbooking layouts lately on Instagram and Pinterest so I decided to try making my card like a little layout.  I have to admit I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out and I got to use some new things on it like the cork elements and one of my new tags from Chic Tags to carry the triangle look throughout.  I'm not sure I'm ready for a huge layout just yet but I can see why people fall in love with doing them :)
Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me- I hope you'll pop on over to the Some Odd Girl blog to meet the rest of the team and see their first projects.  And don't be shy to join right in with us- you have all month and we'd love to see what you create!

Sorry peeps- I colored this so long ago I've started a new notebook and can't find the old one with the markers I used!   But they are bright ones cause this is colored on kraft :)

It's Fall!

Hi all!  It's going to be a busy day on my blog today so lets kick things off in style with a new challenge over at Tiddly Inks and it's one I know everyone love- Anything Goes!  I did something a little different this time around since I could do anything I wanted (teehee) and decided to use the accent stamps from the clear set Bewitching instead of the character.  Now this is NOT something I normally do because I love to color my characters but I'm always trying to switch things up and do something different.  It was a little harder for me to photograph so I only have the one pic that survived :)
I don't know- jury's still out for me on whether I like them or not- they are a little plain jane I think- what are your thoughts?  Thanks for stopping by to visit- I'll be back soon with some more inspiration and some exciting news!

Fairwell Friend

Hi all!  It's another fabulous Tuesday and this week brings a new challenge over at Tiddly Inks- how about showing us some Goodbye cards?  I wanted to do something really soft and pretty and figured Druscilla was the perfect image to make that happen :)  I got advice from some peeps on Instagram for what color to do her hair- amazingly all the colors were suggested!- so I still had to make a decision and decided to go with the early votes which were for blonde.  Then I paired her with some Glitz paper I just picked up with birthday money from my LSS, and a few other fun things like some sequins, to finish the card out.
I hope that you'll pop on by the challenge blog to see the other awesome projects by the DT.  And it's super easy to play along if you want- just follow the theme and use a TI image :)  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me- ya'll are the best!

Thanks!

Hiya crafty peeps!  I hope that everyone had a fabulous long weekend if you're here in the states :)  Today marks another new challenge over at Tiddly Inks and it's a super easy one this time- Saying Thank You.  We all know how essential thank you cards are so I'm happy to make some for stand by when I have time.  I wanted to try something a little different this time around and do pretty much a white on white (I cheated and made the card base dark blue but creative license right?)...the white seemed pretty stark so I added some dimension by embossing it.  I hope that you'll join us and play along- it's super easy just use a TI image :)  And thanks for stopping by to visit me!

Totally Awesome Day

Hi all!  Just popping in to give you the heads up on the new challenge that's starting over at Tiddly Inks :)  Can I just say that peeps totally rocked the new digi and clear release hop we had and I hope that carries over into this challenge- I can't wait to see what everyone starts creating!!

So this time we want to see some School Day Fun!  For my project I decorated one of those large wooden clothespins with some new washi tape from Scotch that I got at Office Depot, an adorable image called Stand Out in the Crowd and some enamel dots.  I know how everyone loves taking pic's of their little ones (or not so little ones!) on the first day of school.  This is a perfect way to show off those printed instagram pics and you can easily change them out from year to year.  To demonstrate I used a sweet pic of me and my sister- that seems so long ago!
I hope you enjoy my little project and that you'll join in with us at Tiddly Inks- just remember to use a TI image :)  Thanks for stopping by to visit!

Sea Swept

Hi all!  How's this week going for everyone?  Mine is slowing coming to an end and heading into an action packed weekend filled with family from out of town and lots of fun!  But before that can begin I've got a totally fun new sketch challenge to share from Some Odd Girl.  I had a big layover coming home from Vegas last week so I carried on my Copics and some images to kill time while I was waiting in the airport and this Under the Sea Mae image is what I ended up with.  I waited until I got home to do the background however and wasn't quite sure how it was going to turn out, but in the end I'm pretty happy with it :)
So here is the awesome sketch we have to work with- such a fun one no?  I love how much room for interpretation there always is...

And here's my card...
I obviously flipped it and added some more bits and pieces to it :)  I was super happy with myself because I even used the two sea shell accent stamps that come in the Under the Sea Mae set to make my own background paper!
I hope that you like the sketch- for some more stunning inspiration you've gotta stop by the SOG blog to check out what my other teamies did- they will knock your socks off!  I sure hope that you'll play along with us- you have all month and all you have to do is use a SOG image and follow the sketch...if we reach 50 players there will even be an extra prize in the mix so how can you go wrong?
Thanks for popping by to visit me- I hope that everyone has a fabulous day!

A Little Birdie

Hi all!  I hope that those in the US had a fabulous and fun 4th of July- mine was spent with family just hanging out and having fun :)  But the lovely long weekend just blew right by me and I can't believe it's Tuesday again!  Luckily Tuesday's are a big day over at Tiddly Inks and we're kicking off a brand new challenge that I have a feeling you're going to love- Fairies and Mermaids.  That's right- time to pull out those fabulous images that are totally sweet and show us what you got.  I chose to use Fairy Tenderhearted for a clean and simple card- I love doing these types of cards with my TI images so they can really shine!  I hope that you'll stop on by the challenge blog to see the rest of the amazing inspiration the DT has put together...and don't forget, there's a rare Tiddly Inks design team call going on right now and we would love to see you throw your hat in the ring :)  Thanks so much for popping by to visit!!

Time for Tea

Hi all!  It's the 1st of the month and you know what that means- a new sketch challenge over at Some Odd Girl :)  We've got this gorgeous sketch to work with:
sketch2
I love the sketches at SOG because they give you a lot of room for interpretation!  This time I went a little more true to the basic sketch because I tried my hand at a boys card- they are definitely my achiles heel in cards but I've heard practice makes perfect- or at least a little better- so I just keep trying every now and then :)  If you're a Wednesday Live Color Along fan from the Ustream show that Kristy does then you'll recognize Mad Hatter Kody as the image she did last week and it definitely stretched my Copic boundaries!  Those pants were a challenge, and about half way through I thought the image was destined for the trash bin, but I stuck with it and I think they turned out okay.  Have you ever tried to do patterns like that?  How'd it go for you?  Well, I sure do hope that you'll stop on by the Some Odd Girl blog to see all the other inspiration from the DT- they always knock my socks off!  And thanks as always for popping by to pay me a visit :)
