Fav of All Time

Hi crafty peeps!  I hope all my US friends had a lovely Memorial Day yesterday- I had a fabulous time with family and lots of yummy food :)  But the holiday is over which means it must be Tuesday- and we all know what Tuesday's bring right?  New Some Odd Girl digi's of course...and this week there are sentiments, cut files and this little gem, Singer Kaylee!  For some reason when I saw her I just knew that she needed to have some hip neon colors going on so I colored her up with my Copics all bright and fun.  She looks like she could be straight off a karaoke stage don't you think?  She was an absolute blast to play with and I can't help but think she'd be perfect for so many different kinds of cards.  I hope that you'll pop on over to the Some Odd Girl blog to check out some more amazing inspiration.  Then don't forget to stop on by the shop to pick her up for your very own (you know you want her, lol).  As always, thanks so much for stopping by to visit my little space in blogland!
Oh, and PS, don't forget to check out the blog hop currently going on with Some Odd Girl and Ruby Rock- It- you can check out all the important deets here...

Do As You Wish

Hiya crafty peeps!  I've got just a little make to share with you today- I was asked to make a custom retirement card and give it some football team flavor by way of a Boise State Broncos theme.  Now that ended up being a little harder than I thought as I tried to marry football and retirement in my mind :)  So I started looking through my digi stamps to see if I could get some spark of inspiration and when I landed on Genie Gwen from Some Odd Girl I had the idea for the sentiment- but then I had to figure out how to incorporate the football team.  So I ended up going for a straight up BSU team color genie with some good ol' blue and orange!  I decided to keep things pretty clean and simple and extended the blue and orange theme to the rest of the card with some patterned paper from Bella Blvd, some twine from my stash and an awesome brad from Freckled Fawn.  I think it ended up checking all the required boxes and hopefully will be loved by its recipient :)  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today- for all those in the US I hope you have a great holiday weekend!

Today Is the Day

Hiya crafty peeps!  Coming at you today with something a little different- one of the digi releases over at Some Odd Girl today is a Mantra Sentiment Pack and it's honestly one of the releases I've been the most excited about :)  I absolutely love the watercolor and brushed sentiment look but I just haven't found the time to try and play around with it yet.  But this sentiment pack from SOG makes it super easy to give it a try so I just couldn't resist.  All I did was take some watercolor paper and alcohol inks- both my Copic refills and some Ranger inks- and started playing until I got the desired watercolor look I wanted.  It's amazing how quickly the time flies once you start playing and there's no real rule book with how to do this so it's just having some fun playing with some inks!  Once those dried I simply ran them through my printer and printed the sentiment right onto the card.  I used a word document and just made a rectangle the same size as my card and then ran a test piece of paper through to make sure the placement was right before doing the final print.  Seriously, these are the fastest and most fun cards- perfect for if you're in a pinch and need something quick and easy!  I just love these sentiments and can't wait to use them on a card with some of my Some Odd Girl images- I just know they will look amazing :)
Don't forget to stop by the blog for some inspiration from the rest of the team, and then pop on over to the shop to grab these babies up for yourself!  As always, thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today!

Friends Stick Together

Hiya crafty peeps!  I can't believe it but another month has come and gone- as crazy as that seems I still love the beginning of a new month because that means it's time for a new clear release at Some Odd Girl!  This week there are two new sets with a decidedly summer type feel- perfect for the beginning of May when I'm starting to get antsy for anything and everything summery :)  Today I've got Mr. Octopus to share with you and I have to say I would never think to have an octopus image but that's why Kristy is the creative genius that she is...and I can't imagine my collection without him!  I paired him with some fun sea themed papers from Glitz and some of my favorite embellie's and I'm loving the way it turned out.  Plus he's a blast to color- I can't wait to give him another go and play with adding texture.  I hope you love him as much as I do!  Don't forget to head on over to the Some Odd Girl blog to see some more crazy impressive inspiration from the rest of the highly talented design team.  And, when you've decided you just must own him yourself, you can pop on over to the Some Odd Girl shop and scoop him up!  I'll see you tomorrow with the other new image being released- believe me you won't want to miss it :)  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today!
