Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Hi all!  I've got something a little different to share with you today:)  I may have mentioned before that I sing- I used to sing in public all the time and for a couple of years in college I was a music major but decided it wasn't for me as a career, at least not in the traditional sense.  After that decision I kind of took a step back and mostly just sang in my car and at home.  But every now and then I get asked by a friend to do something special- perform at their wedding, sing at an annual Christmas house concert, things like that.  This year while practicing for the Christmas house concert I recorded myself so I could see how it sounded...and I decided it might be fun to share this other creative side of me with all of you since you've all given so much support and kindness to me over the years.
I hope that you enjoy and I'm sending warm holiday wishes to all of you wherever you may be- thanks for every visit and kind word- they mean the world to me!

For a Super Woman

Hiya crafty peeps!  Its Tuesday which means that there's a new digi release over at Some Odd Girl and this image is perfect for those Super Women in your lives- meet Super Mae!  I loved coloring her up in the traditional Super Girl colors with my Copics.  I ended up keeping this card pretty clean and simple- mostly because I couldn't find the right paper in my stash for what I was thinking in my head :)  But the crowning piece for me was the sentiment!  I picked this stamp up at a garage sale about 5 years ago and have no idea what company it's from but this baby has made it through craft purges and moves because I always find myself reaching for it!  I hope you love Super Mae as much as I do- don't forget to pop on over to the store if you want to grab her for yourself.  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit my little space in blogland!

I Love Big Books...

Hiya crafty peeps!  I hope that you're having a fabulous week so far :)  I'm just popping in to share the new digi release that's happening over at Some Odd Girl today- it's super fun one for all you book lovers out there- let me introduce Library Mae!  Now I'm sure I'm not the only one who looks at this digi and instantly thinks 'bookmark'.  But I had a special request for one that could be laminated so it's a little different than what I would normally do because there's no dimension to it at all.  But I'm excited to see how it works out- who knows, maybe that's how I'll start to do all bookmarks, lol.  And check out that sweet tag from Chic Tags- I got it in my grab bag from the Black Friday sale (you know as soon as you read it you'll have the song stuck in your head right? LOL).  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me- please make sure that you hop on over to the store to pick her up for yourself.  And don't forget about the fab SOG Hol-Odd-Day hop that's also going on this week- all the deets can be found here.  Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

It's A Hol-Odd-Day Hop with SOG

WELCOME to our Hol-ODD-Day Hop!  ‘Tis the season for the Odd Girls to get their craft on, and whip up some fun things just in time for the holidays!   Some Odd Girl is very happy to bring you our annual…
holodddayhop
This year, we are VERY happy to bring you some of our gift and decor ideas that we hope will inspire you as we all head into the home stretch!  Today, we HOP!  All you have to do is visit all of the blogs below and leave some love at each stop.  You should have arrived from Jenn’s blog – if so, you’re definitely on the right track!  :)   If not, CLICK HERE to get to the beginning ‘cuz you won’t want to miss a beat!  There are some random thingies to be won here and there, but I can’t tell you exactly where!  You might also notice that we have a guest crafter or two  joining us this week! (One joins us today – woo hoo! – and the other will pop up in the week and we’ll give you an extra chance to win!)

For my project I decided to make a little hanging sign that could be put up on the wall or door during the winter season.  I picked up this square panel at Craft Warehouse for super cheap on Black Friday and then used Snowball Tia- one of my favorite digi's- so that I could size her to fit perfectly.  Added some paper from Echo Park, a tag from Chic Tags, some wooden snowflake embellishments and some ribbon for the hanger and that's all she wrote!
Needless to say, we have had a TON of fun making our Hol-ODD-Day projects, and we hope you have fun hopping with us!  Ready?  Here’s the hop list!
So hop around, take your time, leave your comments between now and Sunday, December 15th and we’ll have some winners to announce on Monday, the 16th!  There may or may not be a stamp set or two up for grabs.  There may ALSO be (or maybe not!) some of the new Odds & Ends to win!  ANNNND there may even be some extras.  But you’ll have to join us throughout the week to find out!
Now you’re off to Lenny’s blog!  Enjoy the hop, Oddies, and we’ll be showing details of some of the projects throughout the week, so drop by and watch for your bonus chances to win!

He's Making a List...

Hiya crafty peeps!  Guess what?  It's a Throwback Thursday over at Tiddly Inks so I whipped up this fun and festive Christmas card using the Santa's Helper image.  There's kind of a fun little story to go with why I love this image so much- when I started my blog I'd just started using Copics and was incredibly new to the whole world of blogs, stamping and challenges.  But I decided that part of the reason that I'd started a blog was so that I could participate so I bought this as my very first digital stamp from Tiddly Inks and entered their challenge as my first ever challenge.  To my incredible disbelief- and joy- I was picked in the top 5 and got my first badge.  Man, in some ways that seems like forever ago- and who would have thought back then that I'd eventually find myself on the TI design team?  Definitely not me!  But I'm so glad I am and that TI holds such a special place in my heart and crafty memories :)  Thanks for stopping by to visit me and listen to my ramblings- I hope everyone has a wonderful end to their week!!

Celebrate Together

Hiya crafty peeps!  Well today is the last day of the new clear release over at Some Odd Girl and it's finishing strong with this beautiful image called First Dance Mae!  I have so enjoyed working with these new images- they are gorgeous and just come to life when you color them.  They are definitely going to be in my 'most used' rotation very soon :)  I kept this card pretty simple- I tend to do that because it always lends a certain elegance to them- and used one of the sentiments from the set as well.  I hope that you'll stop on by the SOG blog for some more eye candy using this set and a chance to comment and win one of your very own!  Thanks for stopping by to visit me :)

Candy Cane Joy

Hi crafty peeps!  It's a new Tuesday and this week that means there's a new challenge over at Tiddly Inks!  It's a pretty easy one- we just want to see Anything Christmas :)  I figure most of us are making holiday cards anyway so why not join in?  I've used Lilli Claire Sweet Christmas Dreams for my little card and I accidentally made her a little bigger than I'd anticipated- but that just meant that she got to take center stage.  I colored her with my Copics and paired her with some paper from MME; add a couple of my favorite Christmas embellishments- jingle bells- and a sentiment from Jillibean Soup and that's all she wrote :)  I hope that you'll stop on by the challenge blog for some more inspiration and will join us with a make of your own!

Snowball Fun

Hiya crafty peeps!  Boy, am I feeling refreshed after a fabulous Thanksgiving...it was full of family, food, laughter and a few (or more!) bottles of wine :)  It definitely got me in the right frame of mind for starting some Christmas cards so when I sat down to make my card for the new Some Odd Girl challenge this month I knew exactly what image I wanted to use- Snowball Tia.  She is just so stinkin' cute how can you not have a blast coloring her up?  It's a fun challenge this time around too- lots of space to do something totally creative- because we want to see you create your own backgrounds!  There are tons of things you can do- get inky with it, put some of your favorite washi tape to good use- but since I'd already picked out my image I decided to try a white on white card for the first time to give that feeling of snow so I just pulled out an embossing folder and let it do all the work!  I hope that you like my card and that you'll stop on by the SOG blog to take a look at what the other super talented team members came up with for some added inspiration.  Then you have all month so why don't you join us and play along?  Thanks for stopping by my little piece of blogland today- keep your eyes out because it's going to be a busy week around here with lots of fun stuff coming at you!

Birthday Balloons

Hi all!  As you read this I'm headed out on a road trip with the fam to surprise my Grandma for her 85th birthday :)  But that doesn't stop the blog world from turning which means it's time for a Fab Friday over at Tiddly Inks!  Since I was in a birthday kind of mood I colored up Starry Birthday and went with a simple but bright card.  I hope that you like it and that you'll stop on by the TI challenge blog for some more inspiration from the rest of the team- they never disappoint.  Thanks for visiting me and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

A Perfect Match- SOG and Paper Perfect Crafting!

WELCOME to A Perfectly Odd Hop!  We Odd Girls have partnered up with the lovely ladies from Perfect Paper Crafting to bring you something fun and different!
PPChop
We had the pleasure of getting together with Perfect Paper Crafting at CHA in Vegas, and a collaborative event was an absolute NO-BRAINER!  Would the Odd Girls like to try out some fun tools?  Heck yes!  Does the Perfect Paper Crafting team want to play with some cute stamps?  Sure thing!  And it’s a match made in heaven…
Today, both teams come together to bring you a fabulously inspiring BLOG HOP that will run through Sunday, November 17th.  There are 15 stops along the way including the main blogs, and PLENTY of inspiration for you to enjoy, so we hope you have as much fun as we’ve all had in this little partnership!
If you’re not already familiar with Perfect Paper Crafting, you are in for a TREAT!  Their tools allow crafters to get perfect placement of their mats and edges, easily shape and layer, and AIRBRUSH for gorgeous effects on their projects!  The Odd Girls enjoyed playing with their Perfect Layers, Perfect Squares, and Perfect Ruler for this little event…  You should have arrived from Mary Pat's blog, but in case you get lost or distracted along the way, here’s the hop order:
I was super lucky to get to work with the Perfect Layers 2 which is an absolute dream come true!  I love to mat my layers but it always took time and no matter how careful I was sometimes I would get a wonky edge that wasn't quite straight.  This tool is exactly what it's named- perfect!  I was able to mat all my layers and not only did they come out spot on but it took almost no time at all which is so important in my book.  I hope you like the effect I was able to achieve and will check them out because this tool is just the tip of the iceberg peeps!
Be sure to comment at EVERY stop and you’ll be eligible to win one of TWO prize packs that include one of these tools and a stamp set of your choice!  Your next stop is Roxie’s blog.
We’ll be sharing inspiration throughout the week so you can see how the Odd Girls have used the Perfect Paper Crafting tools, and maybe a little guest project here and there from our partners in this hop!  Plus if you decide to go shopping over at Perfect Paper Crafting make sure to enter the code SOG5% for 5% off.  Remember you have until Sunday at midnight EST to leave your comments, then Some Odd Girl and Perfect Paper Crafting will each draw one winner, to be announced on Monday, November 18th.  Have a Perfectly Odd day, and good luck!

Bring On the Cake

Hi all!  Can you believe that it's November already?  I mean, where the heck did last month go!  Well one nice thing about starting a new month is there's a new challenge over at  Some Odd Girl- now that's something I can get excited about :)  This month we want to see you use Speech Bubbles on your projects!  Super easy to do but if you want a little helping hand Kristy has some Speech Bubble cut files in the store that should do the job.  I don't have a fancy die cut machine (yet!) so I settled for a wood veneer speech bubble that I paired up with Mae Antoinette.  I went a little more clean and simple with the card cause I really wanted my image and the speech bubble to stand out.  I hope you like my card and that you'll stop on by the SOG blog to see the other amazing projects that the team came up with.  And then you've got all month to play along so I hope to see some familiar faces there!  Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend :)
