Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Hi all!  I've got something a little different to share with you today:)  I may have mentioned before that I sing- I used to sing in public all the time and for a couple of years in college I was a music major but decided it wasn't for me as a career, at least not in the traditional sense.  After that decision I kind of took a step back and mostly just sang in my car and at home.  But every now and then I get asked by a friend to do something special- perform at their wedding, sing at an annual Christmas house concert, things like that.  This year while practicing for the Christmas house concert I recorded myself so I could see how it sounded...and I decided it might be fun to share this other creative side of me with all of you since you've all given so much support and kindness to me over the years.
I hope that you enjoy and I'm sending warm holiday wishes to all of you wherever you may be- thanks for every visit and kind word- they mean the world to me!

It's A Hol-Odd-Day Hop with SOG

WELCOME to our Hol-ODD-Day Hop!  ‘Tis the season for the Odd Girls to get their craft on, and whip up some fun things just in time for the holidays!   Some Odd Girl is very happy to bring you our annual…
holodddayhop
This year, we are VERY happy to bring you some of our gift and decor ideas that we hope will inspire you as we all head into the home stretch!  Today, we HOP!  All you have to do is visit all of the blogs below and leave some love at each stop.  You should have arrived from Jenn’s blog – if so, you’re definitely on the right track!  :)   If not, CLICK HERE to get to the beginning ‘cuz you won’t want to miss a beat!  There are some random thingies to be won here and there, but I can’t tell you exactly where!  You might also notice that we have a guest crafter or two  joining us this week! (One joins us today – woo hoo! – and the other will pop up in the week and we’ll give you an extra chance to win!)

For my project I decided to make a little hanging sign that could be put up on the wall or door during the winter season.  I picked up this square panel at Craft Warehouse for super cheap on Black Friday and then used Snowball Tia- one of my favorite digi's- so that I could size her to fit perfectly.  Added some paper from Echo Park, a tag from Chic Tags, some wooden snowflake embellishments and some ribbon for the hanger and that's all she wrote!
Needless to say, we have had a TON of fun making our Hol-ODD-Day projects, and we hope you have fun hopping with us!  Ready?  Here’s the hop list!
So hop around, take your time, leave your comments between now and Sunday, December 15th and we’ll have some winners to announce on Monday, the 16th!  There may or may not be a stamp set or two up for grabs.  There may ALSO be (or maybe not!) some of the new Odds & Ends to win!  ANNNND there may even be some extras.  But you’ll have to join us throughout the week to find out!
Now you’re off to Lenny’s blog!  Enjoy the hop, Oddies, and we’ll be showing details of some of the projects throughout the week, so drop by and watch for your bonus chances to win!

He's Making a List...

Hiya crafty peeps!  Guess what?  It's a Throwback Thursday over at Tiddly Inks so I whipped up this fun and festive Christmas card using the Santa's Helper image.  There's kind of a fun little story to go with why I love this image so much- when I started my blog I'd just started using Copics and was incredibly new to the whole world of blogs, stamping and challenges.  But I decided that part of the reason that I'd started a blog was so that I could participate so I bought this as my very first digital stamp from Tiddly Inks and entered their challenge as my first ever challenge.  To my incredible disbelief- and joy- I was picked in the top 5 and got my first badge.  Man, in some ways that seems like forever ago- and who would have thought back then that I'd eventually find myself on the TI design team?  Definitely not me!  But I'm so glad I am and that TI holds such a special place in my heart and crafty memories :)  Thanks for stopping by to visit me and listen to my ramblings- I hope everyone has a wonderful end to their week!!

Candy Cane Joy

Hi crafty peeps!  It's a new Tuesday and this week that means there's a new challenge over at Tiddly Inks!  It's a pretty easy one- we just want to see Anything Christmas :)  I figure most of us are making holiday cards anyway so why not join in?  I've used Lilli Claire Sweet Christmas Dreams for my little card and I accidentally made her a little bigger than I'd anticipated- but that just meant that she got to take center stage.  I colored her with my Copics and paired her with some paper from MME; add a couple of my favorite Christmas embellishments- jingle bells- and a sentiment from Jillibean Soup and that's all she wrote :)  I hope that you'll stop on by the challenge blog for some more inspiration and will join us with a make of your own!

Snowflake

Hiya crafty peeps!  It's a new Tuesday which means a new challenge over at Tiddly Inks!  To keep things sweet and simple we've got an Anything Goes challenge for you- couldn't be easier right?  Well I couldn't resist coloring up this cutie from the new clear stamp set Holly Jolly Christmas- I know, I know, it's a little early for total Christmas but I seriously couldn't wait another minute to color her up :)  I had this wooden snowflake ornament that I colored red with my Copics and then popped her on.  I hope that you like it and that you'll join us over at Tiddly Inks!

O Christmas Tree

Hi all!  Just stopping in to share a little tag I made for the new digital release over at Some Odd Girl.  If the stores are any indication its already time to start thinking about Christmas!  At least in the crafty world we're used to planning ahead so SOG's got you covered :)  This week one of the new digi's is Christmas Tree Mae and not only is she a whole ton of fun to color but she's perfect for all those holiday cards and tag's we all know are coming.  So I pulled out one of my little banner chipboard pieces and made a little tag with her using some of my favorite things like bling and some wooden snowflake accents.  I fell down on the job and forgot to write my colors down so I hope you'll forgive me :)
Don't forget to check out the store to see what other digi goodness was released this week.  And while in your in Some Odd Girl land pop on over to the blog to catch some awesome tut's on using your stamps for projects other than cards :)  Thanks for visiting me!!

A Biker Girl's Christmas

Hi All!  I've got a non traditional Christmas card to share with you all tonight :)  One of the fun things about making custom cards for sale is that often I get to work with a theme that I might never have the need for in my personal life but that is a special request from someone for the people in their life.  This happens to be one of those cards...the request was for a cute motorcycle girl with short red hair on a Christmas card.  Now sometimes these special requests send me on a goose chase to find an appropriate stamp but luckily as soon as I heard the request I knew I had just the stamp from Kenny K- let me introduce you to Spy Chick- isn't she the coolest?!?  I colored her up with my Copics to match some fun patterned from Doodlebug Designs.  I know this may not be the traditional Christmas card but isn't it fun when you can make a holiday card that doesn't have a 'holiday' stamp on it?  I sure had fun- and from the sounds of it the biker girl that was the receiver of this card thought it was pretty cool so I would say mission accomplished!  Thank you so much for stopping by to visit and take a look and if I don't get the chance to say it later I want to wish everyone a wonderful holiday- I hope it brings joy and happiness to you all!

I {Heart} Christmas

Hi All!  First off I've got to apologize- I've been absolutely horrible and have not had time to stop by everyone's blogs!  BUT this weekend I finished up most of my Christmas card orders so I should be able to get back into the bloggy swing of things.  I've appreciated all of your comments and visits though- you all totally rock!

Right, now back to business :)  As I said I've been working on some Christmas card orders so I'll be sharing those over the next few posts.  Since this one falls in with the current Saturated Canary challenge (Hot Chocolate & Marshmallows- or coffee for those of us who live off of it, lol) I thought I'd share it first.  I tried something very different on this one- stepping out of my style comfort zone- I only used 1 patterned paper...let me tell you, it took all sorts of restraint, lol!  I wanted to try something more clean and simple since I was using some bright colors so I left the card base white and went from there.  I'm a little undecided about the final product- every time I see it I feel like it's missing something, but that's probably just me over thinking things.  The bonus to going CAS is that the image gets to truly take center stage and I love that!  I've used Latte from Saturated Canary- I picked it up when it was a freebie on Krista's blog but you can pick it up for a discounted price from her shop if you missed it.  Well, I'm sure that's plenty of babbling from me!  I hope you enjoy- and as always thanks so much for stopping by to visit :)

May Your Joys Be Many

Hi All!  See, I told you I'd eventually have some Christmas cards to share :)  And since they aren't for me I can share them as soon as I make them- bonus!  I picked up this gorgeous stamp called Angel Gwen from Some Odd Girl and have been dying to color this beauty up with my Copics.  I wanted her dress to be blue but not too bright so I used a combination of the lightest dusty blue that I have, B91, and some warm greys...then, to soften the edges without making the dress too grey, I picked up the B91 on my colorless blender and worked from the outside in.  A couple of times I thought I may have screwed it up but luckily by the end I was pretty happy.  This card has to be mailed so I couldn't go too crazy with the embellishments but I think it turned out pretty good and I'm happy to have my first Christmas card completed!  Thank you so much for stopping by to visit- I hope that everyone has a wonderful start to their week!
