It's A Happy Day at CMC

Hi all!  I didn't have any trouble coming up with the title for this post because I'm pretty excited about it-
That's right- I'm a Guest Designer over at the Color Me Creative Challenge group!  I was over the moon when I found out- I mean any challenge that's all about coloring is a challenge with my name on it :)  And I remember watching Suzanne Dean's Youtube video's while deciding whether or not to invest in Copics- boy am I glad I did!

The challenge this time is Spring Colors so I grabbed a Saturated Canary image that was perfect for the theme called Lily Bo and Peep and got to coloring.  I noticed that the challenge over at Saturated Canary is 'Read All About It' so I couldn't resist giving a nod to one of my favorite characters of all time, Anne of Green Gables, with some fabulous red hair!  I just had fun with this card- it came together pretty easily and I think it's a definite reflection of how badly I want spring to get here, lol.  Thanks for stopping by to visit and take a look.  Please hop on over to see the other great DT projects at the CMC Challenge and join in if you'd like!

The Sweetest Day

Hi all!  I've got a special little card to share today!  My mom is a social worker for the state and there's something special happening in her department- one of her coworkers is actually adopting a little girl that her family has been fostering :)  In a job where usually the workers are on the other side of things this is a wonderful reminder that there can be happy endings in even the hardest stories.  So I wanted to do something special for everyone to sign their congratulations.  I showed my mom a couple of different stamps that I thought might work and she picked this one from Tiddly Inks, aptly named Celebrate Joyfully, as the one that most resembled the little girl so I colored her up with my Copics to match some papers from MME.  I just wanted it to be bright and cheerful- something that would mirror the joy everyone feels at this special occasion.  So thanks for stopping by to take a peek- I hope that you all enjoy it it too!

Thanks A Million

Hi all!  You know those times when you need just a quick little card?  Like one of the '15 minutes or less variety'?  Yeah, I'm not so good at those, lol :)  But I'm trying so when I found myself in need of one it was kind of a personal challenge to see how I could do.  I decided that it would probably help if I made a smaller card- less space equals less time figuring out what the layout will be and how I can incorporate the different papers and embellishments that I love so much.  It seemed to work too- I truly only spent about 15 minutes putting this one together- once I'd done the coloring of course- and I'm pretty happy with the results.  I'm sure I'll be back to my normal 6x6 cards with lots of bling and flowers in no time but it's definitely good to step outside your comfort zone every now and then :)  Thanks for stopping by to take a peek - I hope that you like it as well!

For Love of the Game

Hi all!  Holy cow- I can't believe tomorrow is Friday!  Not that I'm complaining, mind you, but it just seems like this week has gone by super fast.  Probably because I've been busy :)  Between work and cards it just seems like there aren't enough hours in the day...I've been busy creating though, just no time to blog them but I'm making time now if it kills me, lol!  I needed a thank you card for the coach of a girls basketball team and didn't really have any stamps that would work so I set out on the handy dandy internet to see what I could find- and look at this cutie I found- adorable right?  I found it on Etsy in Stephanie Corfee's shop and I just love her- she was absolutely perfect for what I was making- if you think she's adorable too you should definitely check out Stephanie's shop as there are tons of cute images there.  Since the coach is a guy- and I have a terrible time with guy cards- I kept things pretty simple, just a few layers with some design paper from We R Memory Keepers and a sentiment sticker.  I was left staring at it for a bit as I finished up because it just felt a little bare but I didn't dare pile on the flowers or bling, lol :)  Oh well, I'm sure I'll be back to my 'pretty' and my 'fancy' in no time- wouldn't want to suffer from withdrawals!  Thanks so much for popping by to see my latest creation- more to come soon :)

You Make Me Happy

Hi all!  I can't believe the week is half over!  Not that I'm complaining mind you, it just seems like it's been flying by even faster than normal :)  I made this card for a great friend- her daughter is turning 16 (which blows my mind!) and she wanted something special.  I used this stamp called Reader's Delight (025) from Darcy's Diaries because when I saw it I couldn't believe how much it actually looks like her!  I wanted to do something pretty but a little more 'grown up' for this milestone birthday.  My friend loved it so I'm really hoping her daughter did too!  Thanks so much for stopping by to pay a visit- I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of their week :)

Cheers to You

Hi all!  I was thinking today that I don't think I've ever shared a tag on my blog...then I was thinking, I don't think I've ever made a tag!  Usually when I give gifts I've either made a card, made the gift box it's in, or both so I've never really found myself needing a tag.  Well, it's time to break that cycle- here's the first tag I've ever made, lol!  I have to say it was tons of fun- I only used one kind of design paper which is really pushing it for me- I do love my pretty papers you know :)  But I still managed to get some bling and flowers on that tiny thing and even a brand new pinwheel embellishment that was, honestly, an impulse buy at Michael's (please tell me I'm not the only one who walks by something bright and pretty in a craft store and picks it up without a second thought, lol).  My image is the adorable Cheers Kaylee from Some Odd Girl...if you love Oddie images like I do, and you haven't checked out the new Some Odd Girl Community, I suggest you pop by- it's a blast!  Well, I guess I should probably stop babbling now- thanks so much for stopping by to visit- I hope you like my first ever tag!

A Simple Happy Birthday

Hi all!  Hope this finds everyone having a great week so far :)  Mine has been busy- work all day and come home and work on cards at night!   This always happens when I've got lots of orders to get done.  The bonus is that, as long as I remember to grab pics, I've got stuff to share on my blog!  I've got a simple card to share tonight- and by simple I mean it ended up taking me longer than most of my other cards do because my brain just doesn't seem to want to work that way, lol.  But in the end I'm pretty happy with the result- I love how the image, Coy Kaylee from Some Odd Girl, gets to be the focal point.  And the design paper is some I've been hording in my stash because it's one of my favorite colors and I just love the flocked swirl design.  Thanks for stopping by to pay me a visit- I hope you like my card!

Forty & Fabulous

Hi all!  Sorry for being silent this week- I got sick and it just backed things up for a bit.  Thankfully things are back on track and I've got something new to share :)  I was asked to make a 40th birthday card that was fun, flirty and girly- all the things I love best!  When I saw this stamp called Blonde Bombshell by Kenny K I knew it was perfect and I had such a blast coloring her up with my Copics.  I found some Tim Holtz ribbon at Tuesday Morning for a steal and have been eagerly awaiting the chance to use it and figured it was perfect for this card.  There's some signature bling on there as well- if we're talking girlie there's got to be some bling right?  In the end this is one of those cards that I would love to receive and I hope that it makes this 40th birthday a little bit more fabulous!  I hope you enjoy it as well- thanks so much for popping by to visit!

Life Is Sweeter

Hi all!  Today I've got a special birthday card to share with you.  My mom has been working really hard and has lost about 60 lbs so far on her fitness journey so for her birthday card I wanted to do something fun that would kind of celebrate that.  I knew that Krista from Saturated Canary has a bunch of cute fitness related images so I grabbed this one called Jamie Workout to use on my mom's card.  I colored her up with my Copics and paired her with some fun papers from MME and DCWV that were this pretty teal color.  I'm pleased with how it turned out and even more please with the response- when my mom saw it she said 'That's going to be me pretty soon!' which is exactly what I was hoping for!  Thanks so much for stopping by to pay me a visit- I hope everyone has a great week!
