A Mermaid Tale

Hi All!  So, I have a confession to make- sometimes I get nervous when I'm crafting...if I start coloring and I like how it's going then I get nervous that I'm going to mess the next part up.  If I'm starting a card and I really like how my image turned out or think I've got a great idea for the layout I get nervous that the end product won't be what I hoped- and I always joke that at least once during both the coloring and the card making stages I think I'm going to have to start over...does this happen to you to?  But then I'll make it to the end and the best feeling in the world is standing back and truly liking what's sitting on my desk...I think that feeling is probably part of what draws us in as crafter's- the joy of the finished product when it's all that you hoped it would be when you started.

This card definitely took me down this path- I'd coveted the stamp, Under the Sea Mae, from Some Odd Girl for so long, and drooled over what the DT did with it, that by the time I got it I had all these ideas in my head of what I wanted it to look like when I colored it and what the card could look like.  That's when the nervousness, and maybe a little bit of intimidation, starts to set in.  But this time I'm happy- it's not exactly how I pictured the final product- but my cards rarely ever are, lol!  The true test is when I stand back and see it sitting on my desk it makes me smile which hopefully means it does the same for the person who receives it :)  Thanks so much for stopping by and listening to my late night ramblings!  Hope you're all having a wonderful week so far!

I totally recognize the feeling of "oh no!" Katie. After colouring an image you are super happy with, you really want to make the perfet card for it too and I can often use hours on the card to try to make it perfect... LOVE it :)

OMG you of all people can have the utmost confidence in your work. You have an incredible knack for making cards that you just can't fake. LOL! Never nervous but maybe frustrated. If I really love an image and mess up, I just re-color the same piece, cut it and glue it on to the image. Works!! LOL! I never have a picture of how my card will look when it's done so it's definitely a surprise for me. hee hee
I love this card. Great idea using the rhinestones as seaweed. SMART!! Nice!! Hugs!
