Inspired

Hi all!  Sorry that I haven't been around much lately, for some reason it's been tough getting back into the swing of things after the holidays.  But I'm back with a new project that I'm pretty excited about!
I'm always so impressed when I see altered projects that people have done.  I so badly want to be that kind of 'creative' but it really doesn't come as naturally to me as coloring or paper crafts does.  So I've been trying this new way of thinking- when I see something ordinary I try to think of what it could be...now trust me, this has definitely gotten me some funny looks as I snag items from the recycle bin at work or ask if I can have something that someone is going to throw away, but it's a whole new world- this 'outside the box' thinking- and I kinda like it :)

So here's my first attempt- an altered Laughing Cow cheese container!  Now I know it doesn't look like much here but it's the perfect little size for a little trinket holder or even a gift box so I figured, what the heck, I'll give it a go :)  The labels peeled off super easy and the container itself is cardboard with a white layer over the top that distressed really well when I used a sanding block.

And here's the end result!  I of course dressed it up with an adorable Saturated Canary image called Wendy and some of my other favorite embellishments.  Who knew a cheese container could be so pretty huh?  So here's to thinking outside the box in 2013- who's with me?
Copics:
Skin- E000, E00, E11, R30, R21, BV34
Hair- E50, E51, E53, E57

Puppy- E21, E23, E25, E27, E29, B41, B45, B99

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

The Paper Shelter- Flower Extra Vaganza

What a super cute idea! I use this cheese too so I will have to try one of these :) Now I have to save my cheese containers, my toilet paper rolls for mini albums, AND my used dryer sheets for flowers - LOL! Your coloring on Wendy is gorgeous!

Katie this is wonderful. I struggle putting cards together so rarely do I attempt this level of craftiness. Yours is amazing.
