Penguin Joy

Hi all my crafty peeps!  How's it going for you this fine Tuesday?  Tuesdays are always a good day for me in blog land and they are usually busy :)  Today is no different as I'm dropping in to share with you a new digi release over at Some Odd Girl- how about we say hello to these cuties- Momma and Baby Penguin!  Too cute right?  I'm not usually a huge critter girl but I have to admit Kristy is converting me with all these awesome images that she's been coming up with- how can you not just fall in love with them?
I colored this pair up with my Copics and tried to get a little bit of furry texture on the little one's chest after looking at some adorable pictures of real baby penguins.  (Let me tell you- that side tracked me for a good half hour online- they are so cute!)  Then I played with some distress inks, sprays and my new Heidi Swapp stencil to get the starry sky.  But I was running into a total block as to how to get some snow on there...I tried some white puffy paint but that was just not working for me so then I pulled out my cheesecloth to see if I could bend that to my will but it was a total no go.  So guess what I ended up using- a cotton ball!  I know- it's so easy it's embarrassing how long it took me to get there, lol :)
I hope that you enjoy this little card of mine...please make sure and stop on by the Some Odd Girl blog to check out the links to some other odd and wonderful projects with this new release.  And to pick them up for yourself you can pop on over to the shop- easy peasy :)  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit me today!!
